About the Job

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within the functional domain.
  • At least 10 years of systems software engineering experience, including a track record of technical leadership driving the design and delivery of high-performance backend platforms.
  • Advanced hands-on proficiency in C programming on Linux or FreeBSD runtime environments, with deep architectural expertise in inter-process communication and shared-memory architectures.
  • Expert-level proficiency in production troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, including post-mortem core dump analysis, GDB/LLDB debugging, Valgrind, and system-level performance tracing.
  • A track record of mentoring and guiding systems software engineers across the organization, conducting rigorous design reviews, and fostering technical growth.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement high-performance data loss prevention engines, dictionary compilers, and distributed incident-processing pipelines, producing optimized systems-level C code for production proxy runtimes.
  • Own the technical direction and architectural roadmap for line-rate pattern matching, regular-expression evaluators, custom dictionary compilers, exact data match, and indexed document matching.
  • Help develop next-generation data loss prevention solutions using machine-learning models, collaborating with data science teams to deploy and integrate models in high-throughput data paths while balancing inspection capabilities with network latency and resource constraints.
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards for multithreaded C daemons on FreeBSD and Linux, designing shared-memory structures, inter-process communication, lockless concurrency, and memory-safe subsystems.
  • Serve as the technical escalation authority for critical production issues by leading hands-on post-mortem core dump analysis, system profiling, and leak detection.

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to leverage artificial intelligence technologies and workflows to drive measurable operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with data loss prevention technologies, including regular-expression evaluation engines, custom dictionary compilers, and exact data match and indexed document matching profiles.
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with public cloud environments, specifically AWS and Azure, including deploying, optimizing, or maintaining performance-intensive cloud-native systems.
