Your role:

Global Relay's enterprise applications have a substantial footprint in the messaging & archiving space for compliance. This role provides an excellent opportunity to help solve tough problems and create great experiences that have a significant impact on our customers.

We are looking for a UX Designer who champions our users in all phases of the product management cycle. From context and problem framing all the way through to the delivery of meaningful solutions. You will conduct research to understand our customers’ problems, work with the business to understand their needs, collaborate with UI designers and developers to design the final product. This role is specifically for our flagship Information Archiving product, so you'll be joining a diverse team using modern tools!

Your responsibilities:

Advocate for our customers by gaining a deep understanding of their work and the challenges they face
Be a key partner to stakeholders and product management in helping to come up with approaches that work — you’re not here to just “gather” requirements
Proactively apply research techniques that are appropriate to the problem being addressed
Concept, prototype, validate, fine-tune and present design solutions
Communicate those solutions to our developers in an agile software development environment
Create sketches, flows, wireframes and other design artifacts
Help identify and leverage metrics to drive product management and measure success
Guide and coach other designers and non-designers to uplift their design thinking capabilities

About you:

6+ years in user experience, interaction design or similar role, including at least 2 years in a senior role
Experience designing enterprise web applications, ideally in finance, compliance, or other highly regulated industries
A portfolio with case studies that showcase strong storytelling, clearly outlining the design journey from problem framing to outcome.
Strong research skills and the ability to apply the right methods to solve problems
Skilled at creating and explaining systems, workflows, and interaction models
Strong communication & verbal skills – able to explain design rationale in plain language to both technical and business stakeholders
Experience in an Enterprise business environment is definitely an asset

Compensation:

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia’s pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.

The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values. We aim to foster an inspiring work environment and support employees' work-life rhythms. We provide a comprehensive extended health benefits program, including virtual healthcare and a wellness allowance. Employees also receive annual allotted vacation days, which increase based on tenure. Other benefits include: Paid sick days, maternity/parental enhancement program, corporate bonuses, and an RRSP contribution matching program.

For Vancouver-based employees, we provide a subsidized meal program, courtesy of our talented in-house culinary team!

British Columbia - Base salary range

$90,000—$110,000 CAD
