About the Company

Friendship Public Charter School

Non-profit K-12 charter school network

Friendship Public Charter School is a non-profit charter school network in Washington, DC serving about 4,000 students from pre-K to 12, including an online academy. It uses a full K–12 curriculum aligned to Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards, with a knowledge-building approach and programs such as Early College high school, AP/Pre-AP, and Reggio Emilia-inspired learning at some elementary campuses; online campuses partner with K12 and Edmentum. The network differentiates itself by turning around financially or academically struggling charter schools and offering strong college-prep and extracurricular programs. Its goal is to provide a world-class education that helps students meet high academic standards and become self-sufficient, well-rounded citizens, as reflected in high graduation and college-acceptance rates.
