About the job
- At least 1 year of directly related experience and/or training in a food production or kitchen environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Experience and familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.
- Experience working with a high sense of urgency.
- Proficiency with Microsoft core applications, Google, and Slack; experience in Jira and/or other management platforms and software is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Occasional travel between buildings and sites is required.
- Ability to maintain and manage confidential information.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old, as required by state regulations.
- A background check is required.
- Must obtain all applicable state-required permits, licenses, and certifications.
- Produce high-quality, consistent products by performing duties meticulously and assisting with daily workflow.
- Support production team members when a Supervisor is not present.
- Train and coach production team members in collaboration with Supervisors and Managers.
- Open and/or close shifts, and work a flexible schedule.
- Prepare, mix, cook, produce, pour, deposit, pull, and store facility consumables and products.
- Prepare ingredients, workstations, and equipment for production, and regularly check that equipment is functioning correctly.
- Maintain high-quality standards during shifts by continually performing quality assurance and quality control checks on products for weights, appearance, and flavor profile.
- Manage own time and the team’s time to stay on schedule and meet daily production expectations.
- Infuse products by thoroughly scraping, turning, lifting, and rotating them for the appropriate time.
- Read, record, and communicate kitchen data, counts, measurements, and weights accurately.
- Perform opening and closing duties.
- Store facility consumables and products properly, and store food products in compliance with safety practices.
- Comply with sanitation and safety standards and maintain a clean, organized kitchen and work environment.
- Perform visual quality inspections on products and minimize waste where possible.
- Communicate information effectively and respond to questions and suggestions from various levels within the company.
- Assist Production Supervisors and Managers in training and coaching Production Support employees on proper procedures, techniques, and compliance protocols.
- Communicate quality or safety discrepancies to Supervisors, Managers, and/or Directors.
- Make recommendations to management regarding personnel evaluation and training of the Production Support team.
- Assist the Production Manager or Production Supervisor as needed.
- Ensure a safe working environment by reviewing and communicating daily safety topics.
- Assist with packaging responsibilities as required.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities assigned based on business needs.
- ServSafe certification or a Food Handler’s Card.
