- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency.

- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, which may include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic submucosal dissection, polypectomy, dilation, stent placement, and management of gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Provide inpatient consultative services and outpatient gastroenterology care.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
- Interpret diagnostic studies including endoscopy findings, pathology reports, imaging, and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with surgery, oncology, radiology, anesthesia, and other specialists as needed.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, treatment options, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the electronic health record.
- Participate in call coverage and endoscopy unit responsibilities as required.
- Adhere to quality, safety, and regulatory standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Additional training or experience in advanced or therapeutic endoscopy.
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
