Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency.
  • Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Gastroenterology.
  • Active or eligible state medical license.
  • DEA registration or eligibility.
  • Advanced technical skills in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
  • Strong clinical judgment and procedural decision-making.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, which may include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic submucosal dissection, polypectomy, dilation, stent placement, and management of gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Provide inpatient consultative services and outpatient gastroenterology care.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Interpret diagnostic studies including endoscopy findings, pathology reports, imaging, and laboratory results.
  • Collaborate with surgery, oncology, radiology, anesthesia, and other specialists as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, treatment options, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Participate in call coverage and endoscopy unit responsibilities as required.
  • Adhere to quality, safety, and regulatory standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
