Requirements
- Provide comprehensive care for pediatric infectious disease patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Be board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
- Be willing to obtain a Florida medical license and Drug Enforcement Administration certification.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in pediatric infectious diseases.
- Be familiar with infectious complications in pediatric solid organ transplant patients.
- Have research productivity in clinical, translational, or basic studies.
- Have prior experience in HIV care, antibiotic stewardship, and infection control.
- Be familiar with transplant infectious diseases.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with pediatric and adult infectious disease leadership to advance the Pediatric Antibiotic Stewardship Program.
- Conduct structured rounds with clinical pharmacists.
- Promote, advise, and guide the development of local antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
- Participate in the development, education, and communication of infectious disease-related protocols to improve antibiotic decisions.
- Analyze antimicrobial usage and implement strategies to optimize therapy and reduce costs.
- Participate in the Antimicrobial and Anti-Infective Committee and other relevant committees.
- Deliver high-quality care for children and adolescents living with HIV, including management of primary and specialty HIV-related issues.
- Develop, review, and implement policies to minimize nosocomial infections.
- Review and update electronic order sets and institutional protocols as needed.
- Supervise and teach fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Mentor trainees on quality improvement and research projects.
- Share on-call responsibilities with other division faculty.
- Engage in scholarly activity, including clinical, translational, or basic research, with opportunities for publications and grant development.
