Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in international affairs, engineering, law, business, data science, or a closely related field is required.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development, implementation, and day-to-day management of NYU’s Global Export and Trade Compliance Program.
  • Ensure the University’s compliance with U.S. export control laws and trade regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, and Office of Foreign Assets Control regulations.
  • Operate independently while managing a significant portfolio of responsibilities under the direction of the Global Export and Trade Compliance Executive Director.
  • Engage with stakeholders across NYU’s campuses in New York, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree or other advanced degree is preferred, including a Juris Doctor, Master of Business Administration, or Master of Science in science or engineering fields.
  • At least 7 years of experience is preferred.
  • Experience managing restricted party screening systems and processes is preferred.
  • Experience reviewing and assessing restricted party screening results is preferred.
  • Experience performing complex export control and secure research reviews is preferred.
  • Experience performing compliance audits, monitoring, risk assessments, and investigations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with federal export control and research security regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Experience monitoring regulatory activity in higher education or academic research institutions is preferred.
  • Experience working in a global organizational setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of U.S. trade compliance-related laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, and Office of Foreign Assets Control regulations, and practical application to research administration is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic systems used to facilitate trade compliance, including Export On-Demand, Visual Compliance, SNAP-R, and AES, is preferred.
