We’re hiring for an experienced Client Development Manager. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships amongst Relay’s existing customer base to deliver expansion revenue with a solution-oriented sales approach via upsell and cross-sell strategies. Long-term customer success is a key first principle for Relay, and you will work closely with Marketing, Business Development, Product and Operations to balance business and customer needs. This role requires an individual who thrives at relationship building (internal and external), who is detail-oriented and analytically minded, and who seeks to deeply understand our product and underlying technology.
Relay has experienced exponential growth over the past several years, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced (and often ambiguous) environment is a must.
This role will be based in our North Hills, Raleigh, North Carolina HQ and we work in a hybrid model with 3 days in the office, 2 days remote, and will involve approximately 30% travel.
What we look for:
Relay’s Client Development Manager is obsessed with customer experience, believes no detail is too small, and is excited to multitask & drive simultaneous efforts. You will work closely with Relay’s sales, customer success and go to market teams
What you will do:
- Deeply understand Relay’s product offerings and industry trends in key verticals
- Manage a portfolio of Enterprise and Mid-Market customer accounts
- Achieve and strive to exceed quota targets and drive optimal net revenue retention
- Communicate regularly with key client stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of their needs, use cases, and pain points
- Build strong internal relationships (especially with Customer Success and Operations) to ensure our customers have a smooth experience and derive maximum value from Relay
- Gain proficiency with our CRM and the full sales tech stack
- Periodically travel to events to meet customers, cultivate relationships, generate new pipeline
- Work with a close-knit team of talented experts who will challenge you and support you in your professional growth
What you will bring to this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related, or equivalent work experience
- Looking for a minimum 2+ years of Client Development, Account Manager or Account Executive experience
- Proven track record of exceeding quota targets
- Enterprise/SaaS Sales experience is highly preferred
- Strong organizational skills and self-driven work ethic
- Excellent analytical and communication skills - you’re able to provide clear and concise guidance through emails, over the phone, online meetings, and in-person
- Experience in successfully cultivating client relationships with all levels of seniority
- Ability to handle ambiguous or challenging situations and drive to mutually agreeable outcomes
- Ability to thrive and react to changing business needs within a startup environment
- You are hungry and humble with a balance of confidence and relentlessly curiosity
- You are a hard worker with a strong sense of urgency
