Requirements
  • A J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in the state of residence, in a major United States state.
  • At least 4 years of litigation experience in a prominent law firm.
  • At least 2 years of experience in ethics compliance relating to litigation.
  • High organization and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance legal compliance and business interests while working with stakeholders across the firm.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote work environment.
Responsibilities
  • Work directly with the General Counsel to conduct research, writing, and investigations into legal and ethical compliance issues.
  • Draft firm standard operating procedures for ethics compliance throughout litigation matters across multiple United States states, including client intake, pre-litigation, litigation, settlement, and IOLTA account processes.
  • Draft and revise firm agreements and documents, including retainer agreements, standard client communications, demands, termination-of-representation documents, and settlement statements.
  • Evaluate conflicts of interest and draft conflict waivers.
  • Assist with implementing and updating internal compliance policies and protocols.
  • Audit and provide high-level oversight of a large portfolio of cases to ensure compliance and performance.
  • Advise on and audit litigation ethics compliance across the firm.
  • Track key case metrics and escalate issues to supervising attorneys and management as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Litigation experience in multiple states and knowledge of different ethics rules and rules of civil procedure.
  • Experience in plaintiff-side personal injury litigation.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management systems and project management software.
  • Strong legal analysis skills and relationship management capabilities.
  • A business-oriented mindset.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Arizona bar membership.
