Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • The candidate must be a graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or have one year of experience in a clinical setting.
  • The candidate must obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • The candidate must be able to bend, stoop, reach, rotate normally, and stand and walk for an 8-12 hour shift.
  • The candidate must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • The candidate must be able to work closely with others, work protracted or irregular hours, work around biohazards and infectious diseases, and work with hands in water.
  • The candidate may be required to travel between facilities.
  • The candidate must be able to use and care for equipment including printers, embossers, and computers.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
  • The candidate must be able to adapt to changing environments and work independently and in a team setting.
  • The candidate must be able to organize and prioritize work.
Responsibilities
  • Greet and escort patients to examination rooms, obtain initial information and vital signs, and prepare patients for physician visits.
  • Prepare examination rooms by maintaining cleanliness and ensuring supplies are available.
  • Assist with or perform examinations, tests, and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and arrange referral contacts as needed.
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients about follow-up expectations.
  • Maintain required quality control testing logs.
  • Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
  • Perform office administrative tasks, including answering phones, taking messages, copying, printing, data entry, depositing cash, and other closing duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of healthcare education coursework.
  • One year of healthcare experience.
