Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Building Engineering, or Construction Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of building science.
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or the Ordre des Architectes du Québec (OAQ).
  • In-depth knowledge of building envelope concepts, systems, and construction codes in Canada.
  • Experience with technical and forensic expertise regarding building envelopes.
  • Experience in preparing technical reports and reviewing design documents for building envelopes and applicable building codes.
  • Valid driver's license and constant access to a vehicle.
  • Possession of an ASP Construction card (Health and Safety on Construction Sites).
  • Proficiency in English and French, both oral and written, to interact with internal and external clients across Canada and globally.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
  • Design technical solutions and associated validation processes to meet specifications regarding functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Manage building envelope commissioning, including writing and reviewing technical study reports and technical deliverables such as daily and test reports.
  • Conduct engineering inspections and evaluations of the physical condition of buildings.
  • Act as an expert in forensic technical evaluations and contract management.
  • Utilize established knowledge management systems to achieve predefined results within the area of responsibility.
  • Define and deliver products and services that meet client needs by selecting the best approaches within established systems.
  • Plan, execute, and manage technical personnel on mandates while ensuring compliance with corporate health, safety, and quality control requirements.
  • Meet with clients and prepare service offers and project proposals.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certification Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) or Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx).
  • Master's degree in heat transfer research related to buildings.
  • Experience performing regulatory analyses on construction codes and standards.
  • Experience in the preparation of project proposals.
