Requirements
  • Proficiency in typing, filing, and aptitude to learn office software.
  • Good verbal and writing skills and a strong sense of organization.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant insurance information when scheduling appointments.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • High school diploma required.
  • One year of experience providing customer service, either by phone or in person, focused on patient care.
  • Ability to type 60 words per minute.
  • Measles, mumps, varicella, and annual influenza immunizations are required as a condition of employment, subject to applicable exemptions.
Responsibilities
  • Greet patients verbally by phone and respond to them in a timely manner.
  • Provide courteous, helpful, accurate, and proactive communication and problem-solving to ensure patients receive healthcare effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Use electronic medical records or electronic health records.
  • Use scanners, copiers, and other office equipment.
  • Apply proper telephone etiquette.
Desired Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Experience with high-volume phone work, scheduling, verifying insurance eligibility, and preparing medical records is preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Electronic medical records experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer and keyboard knowledge.
