Requirements
  • Two years of additional education beyond high school.
  • Graduation from an American Medical Association Council of Medical Education Program for Radiologic Technology.
  • Advanced mammography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
  • Current licensure or license eligibility in the State of Vermont is required.
Responsibilities
  • Independently perform all types of mammographic breast imaging procedures.
  • Assist in the technical orientation of cross-training staff and instruct them in complex or difficult procedures.
  • Acquire and maintain mammography certification in accordance with facility and Food and Drug Administration/Mammography Quality Standards Act requirements.
  • Cross-train in other radiology modalities based on departmental staffing needs.
  • Maintain adequate performance competencies in each diagnostic imaging modality when cross-trained.
  • Complete required documentation and certification renewals annually.
