Requirements
- Two years of additional education beyond high school.
- Graduation from an American Medical Association Council of Medical Education Program for Radiologic Technology.
- Advanced mammography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
- Current licensure or license eligibility in the State of Vermont is required.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform all types of mammographic breast imaging procedures.
- Assist in the technical orientation of cross-training staff and instruct them in complex or difficult procedures.
- Acquire and maintain mammography certification in accordance with facility and Food and Drug Administration/Mammography Quality Standards Act requirements.
- Cross-train in other radiology modalities based on departmental staffing needs.
- Maintain adequate performance competencies in each diagnostic imaging modality when cross-trained.
- Complete required documentation and certification renewals annually.
