TrulyCar launches transparent vehicle history platform with one-time pricing and Salvage Auction Photo access. * 3 hrs ago Constance Wu says her love of acting outweighs her 'discomfort with poverty' Oakville, Missouri Aug 27, 2026 (Issuewire.com) In response to growing consumer frustration over opaque pricing and recurring billing traps in the automotive data space, TrulyCar has announced the official rollout of its all-in-one vehicle history reporting platform. Designed specifically for used-car shoppers, sellers, and automotive enthusiasts, TrulyCar introduces a completely transparent, one-time payment structure paired with deep visual vehicle history documentation. While traditional vehicle data providers often require expensive single reports or lock buyers into recurring monthly subscription renewals, TrulyCar provides instant access through a single-tier pricing model starting at $16.99 per report, with discounted multi-report packages for active car shoppers. Every TrulyCar report compiles verified records across major federal and commercial repositories, including the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS), insurance total loss registries, and police crash records. In addition to title brand verifications and odometer rollback audits, TrulyCar integrates high-resolution historical salvage auction photo galleries from Copart and IAAI, allowing buyers to inspect visual evidence of prior structural damage before purchasing a used vehicle. "Used-car buyers need immediate, clear facts to protect their investmentsnot surprise subscriptions or hidden rebills," said a TrulyCar spokesperson. "By combining official NMVTIS title verification, detailed OEM maintenance milestones, safety recall monitoring, and auction photo archives under a strictly one-time payment model, TrulyCar delivers the clarity consumers need to buy with confidence." Key features of the TrulyCar platform include: * Official NMVTIS Title & Brand Audits: Immediate identification of salvage, junk, rebuilt, flood, hail, and lemon titles. * Salvage Auction Photo Archives: High-resolution historical images capturing pre-repair collision severity. * Milestone Maintenance & Warranty Schedules: Factory-recommended service timelines and manufacturer warranty coverage terms. * Open Safety Recall Alerts: Real-time safety defect notices linked to official NHTSA safety campaigns. * Zero Subscription Commitments: 100% one-time transparent checkout with instant web dashboard and PDF report downloads. Copart CEO Jay Adair returns as earnings grow despite weak volume

Copart's executive chairman Jay Adair is returning to his former role as CEO, a move viewed positively by Madison Large Cap Fund. Adair previously served as CEO for many years and was instrumental in building the vehicle remarketing company over three decades. The Madison Large Cap Fund highlighted Copart in its Q2 2026 investor letter, noting the company's earnings have grown healthily despite frustrating recent performance. Volume growth remains weak due to more under- and uninsured auto drivers and shifting market share amongst insurance carriers. In Q3 FY 2026, Copart's consolidated revenue reached $1.24 billion, up 2.1% year-on-year, driven by robust service and purchase vehicle sales. The company's competitive position remains strong, according to the fund. Copart closed at $33.85 per share on 19 August 2026, with a market capitalisation of $31.26 billion.

Car-Seller Copart among suitors for car insurance software firm CCC.

Car-Seller Copart among suitors for car insurance software firm CCC. By Ryan Gould August 19, 2026 Copart Inc. is in talks to acquire CCC Intelligent Solutions Holdings Inc., the car-insurance software provider that has been weighing selling itself, according to people familiar with the matter. Dallas-based Copart, which specializes in used and salvaged car sales and has a market value of roughly $29 billion, has been vying with several private equity firms including GTCR and Veritas Capital about acquiring CCC, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information is private. Deliberations are ongoing and there's no certainty that any of the suitors will reach an agreement, the people said, adding that it's also possible another buyer could emerge. Representatives for Copart, CCC and Veritas didn't immediately respond to requests for comment. A spokesperson for GTCR declined to comment. CCC has been working with a financial adviser in recent weeks to explore options after Elliott Investment Management built a large stake in the Chicago-based firm. Elliott, which is best known as an activist investor that takes stakes in some of the world's largest companies, has been engaging via its private equity arm with CCC, Bloomberg News reported in July. Shares in CCC, which have lost 27% of their value over the past year, jumped as much as 14% Tuesday in New York trading before closing up 6.7% to $7.14, giving the company a market value of about $4.2 billion. CCC previously weighed a sale in 2023, when its stock was valued at around $8 billion. Copart's shares, which have fallen 33% in the past year, fell 0.6% to $31.51 Any deal involving CCC would mark a turning point for the software industry at a time when many investors have been pulling back from making fresh bets amid fears of displacement from artificial intelligence tools. Acquisitions of software companies globally since Jan. 1 total $141 billion, compared with $167 billion at this point last year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. This year's total doesn't include for the $250 billion merger of Elon Musk's xAI with SpaceX, which if added would put the 2026 tally to date well ahead of 2021's record-setting volume for the entire year, the data show.
