Requirements
  • Consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate via email; proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on power or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering.
  • Five years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code code requirements.
  • Proficiency with ETAP (Electrical Transient Analysis Program).
  • Experience in 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred.
  • Ability to walk down systems in the field.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to communicate via email; e-Verify participation.
  • All employees must be determined eligible for a Facility Access Authorization (Employment Authorization) by the U.S. government's designated Security Office.
  • May be required to complete a Financial Disclosure Statement.
  • Must be able to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to a Top Secret or Department of Energy 'Q' clearance.
  • Security clearance is not required to start, but ability to obtain up to Top Secret or DOE Q clearance may be necessary.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Location is Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina.
  • Work week schedule options include 5/8s, 4/10s, and 9/80s; schedule may vary.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare Commercial Grade Dedication Packages, Replacement Item Evaluations and Receipt Inspection Criteria Packages for Facility Safety Significant (SS) and Safety Class (SC) procurement of safety equipment.
  • Support Facility Maintenance with CGD required documentation input for Safety Significant and Safety Class systems.
  • Support Facility Spare Parts Administrator with required documentation for Engineered Equipment spare parts utilizing latest version of National Nuclear Quality Assurance-1 engineered item requirements.
  • Interface with Design Authorities and support preparation of critical characteristic technical evaluations that drive testing and inspection criteria development.
  • Review Facility Design documentation of SS and SC systems and input and approve associated Data Sheets for design acceptance.
  • Perform Supplier Commercial Grade Dedication Surveys as the engineering member of the team for vendor approved suppliers list.
  • Review Vendors Commercial Grade Dedication Plan and procedure Submittals for acceptance.
  • Support Quality Receipt Inspection with disposition of non-conformance reports as required by procedure.
  • Engineering services shall be provided using Savannah River Remediation Company (SRR) and Savannah River Site (SRS) processes and procedures; programmatic guidance provided by SRR.
