Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 1 year of experience in horticultural maintenance is required.
- A valid and unrestricted United States driver's license is required, along with meeting the university's motor vehicle policy criteria for driver authorization.
- The position requires essential-personnel availability during emergencies and potentially for critical tasks.
- Working knowledge of safety regulations related to all aspects of landscape maintenance is preferred.
- The employee must be able to comprehend and relay orders and specifications from the grounds supervisor.
- The employee must be able to safely handle loads of 45 pounds and lift materials up to 50 pounds.
- The employee must be punctual, available for overtime when needed, and willing to participate in safety, training, or disaster programs.
- The position may require late-evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday work, as well as overtime.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the activities of 3–4 workers engaged in grounds management.
- Support other Facilities Services projects.
Desired Qualifications
- More than 1 year of supervisory experience in horticultural maintenance.
- The ability to work cooperatively with people of diverse personalities, educational backgrounds, and cultural backgrounds.
