Danaher Corporation announced plans to launch its first AI-powered autonomous research lab at Abcam, expected to reach full capacity in early 2027. The facility will use artificial intelligence and robotics to develop custom antibodies and molecular tools through a continuous design-make-test-learn cycle. The lab integrates capabilities from multiple Danaher companies, including Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, Cytiva, and Molecular Devices. Robotic automation was developed with Automata, in which Danaher invested in January 2026. Danaher projects the system will deliver up to eight times faster progress from concept to validated reagent and increase annual reagent generation tenfold, scaling from tens to hundreds per year. The company described the lab as the first step towards building a fleet of smart instruments producing AI-ready data, which would connect to create integrated workflows and additional autonomous labs.

Cardinal Health shares rose over 10% year-to-date but dropped more than 8% since early September. Jim Cramer attributed the decline to investor rotation into AI stocks rather than weak performance, calling the sell-off "stupid" given the company's strong quarterly results. Cardinal Health's fiscal fourth quarter earnings beat analyst estimates with profit per share of $2.91 and full-year guidance of $12.40 to $12.60 exceeding the $12.04 estimate. The pharmaceutical business grew revenue 6% annually to $55.4 billion, driven by demand for branded and specialty drugs. However, Q4 revenue of $63.67 billion missed analyst estimates of $65.03 billion. Management cautioned investors about normalisation ahead, particularly in specialty growth rates. By comparison, Danaher shares fell over 7% year-to-date after deferring $100 million in revenue and cutting its full-year revenue growth guidance.
