Requirements

A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
A valid driver's license or state identification is required.
The ability to handle conflicts, make sound decisions, and take appropriate action during high-tension and stressful situations is required.
The ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including walking, climbing, stooping, lifting, carrying, moving, and working around moderate to loud noise, is required.
The ability to operate a personal computer using Windows 2000, Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as a portable radio and standard office equipment, is required.
The ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in oral and written form is required.
The ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and produce accurate results is required.
The ability to maintain effective working relationships and adjust to changing situations is required.
The position requires extensive walking, climbing, stooping, and possibly heavy lifting in indoor and outdoor settings, including potentially adverse conditions and contact with hostile people.

Responsibilities

Periodically tour assigned posts to ensure the safety of patrons, staff, vendors, participants, and others on the premises.
Handle disturbances or problems during events or at the facility, escorting disruptive individuals to the security office or off the premises when necessary.
Write incident reports and meet with the security lead to review procedures.
Tour the facility and examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
Assist with crowd control inside and outside the premises when necessary.
Control unusual circumstances and events during fires, storms, riots, and other emergencies.
Respond immediately to emergency situations, answer alarms, and investigate disturbances.
Act professionally with clients, employees, patrons, vendors, and others encountered during employment.
Provide clients, patrons, and vendors with the best service possible.
Work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Desired Qualifications

Some college education is preferred.
One year of security experience is preferred, although it is not necessary and training can be provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Tour post periodically to ensure the safety of patrons, staff, vendors, participants, and others on premises.
Handle any disturbances or problems that arise during an event or at the facility. If necessary, escort disruptive individual(s) to the security office and/or off the premises.
Write incident reports and meet with security lead to review procedures.
Tour facility, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or G.E.D.; some college preferred
1 year security experience preferred but not necessary, training can be provided
Valid driver's license or state ID required

Meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and around the facility (requires personal mobility), lifting, carrying, moving, climbing and moderate to loud noises.
