- Provide patients with discharge documentation.
- Complete audits and other assigned tasks within the assigned timeframe.
- Evaluate patients' functional levels within regulatory requirements by applying diagnostic and prognostic procedures as directed by the physician or podiatrist.
- Guide patients in therapeutic, creative, and self-care activities to improve function.
- Observe, record, and report patients' reactions to treatment and changes in their conditions to the physician or podiatrist.
- Instruct other health team personnel, including Occupational Therapy Assistants, Home Health Aides, and family members, in appropriate phases of occupational therapy.
- Communicate Occupational Therapy Assistant assignments with the scheduler, prepare written instructions, and supervise the assistant in the patient's home.
- Complete and document Occupational Therapy Assistant supervisory visits at least every six visits.
- Complete Home Health Aide supervisory visits every 14 days when therapy is the only service in the home.
- Complete comprehensive OASIS assessments.
- Assess patients' homebound status.
- Complete comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations in patients' homes and develop plans of care.
- Communicate with patients to schedule appointments and manage the daily schedule.

Angie Hatfield Marker appointed Vice President of Carle Health Center for Philanthropy. Carle Health has named Angie Hatfield Marker as Vice President of the Carle Health Center for Philanthropy, advancing the health system's commitment to growing philanthropic support for care, innovation, and community health across all regions it serves, according to an Aug. 21 announcement. Hatfield Marker, who is currently executive director of development and campaigns at Carle Health, will begin her new role on Oct. 18. She was selected after an extensive search and will succeed Beth Katsinas, who plans to retire on Oct. 30 after nearly a decade leading the philanthropy center. The organization said Katsinas has played a pivotal role in its growth. The leadership transition comes as Carle Health continues expanding opportunities to connect donors and communities with priorities that impact patients and families throughout the system. Robinson named to Butkus Award Preseason Watch List. The award is presented annually to the nation's top linebacker The Butkus Foundation announced today (Aug. 13) that Virginia's Kam Robinson has been named one of 51 players nationwide to the preseason watch list for the 42nd annual Butkus Award(R), presented annually to the nation's top linebacker. Robinson was named one of 12 semifinalists for last year's Butkus Award after leading the team in tackles before he suffered a season-ending injury in UVA's 34-17 road win over Duke (Nov. 15). CHICAGO - The Butkus Foundation today announced the preseason watch list for the 42nd annual Butkus Award(R), presented each year to the nation's top collegiate linebacker. The 51-player watch list honors Dick Butkus' iconic No. 51 jersey and recognizes the toughness, instincts, leadership, competitiveness, and football character that defined one of the greatest defensive players in football history. The 2026 watch list features 51 linebackers representing 42 colleges and universities from across the country. Carle Health to break ground on hospital expansion in Olney. Posted: Aug 5, 2026 / 01:57 PM EDT Updated: Aug 5, 2026 / 01:57 PM EDT OLNEY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) - Carle Health is planning to break ground for the construction of a Carle Health Outpatient Service Olney on Thursday afternoon. The expansion of Carle Health Richland Hospital will bring a specialty medical office building and an emergency department to the health campus. According to a news release from Carle Health, the $45 million facility will bring specialty care closer to Olney, reducing wait times and creating a more accessible care experience for the community. During the groundbreaking, Carle Health leaders, along with city and county officials, will gather to celebrate the milestone. Officials will also speak on how this expansion will better serve the area. The groundbreaking will take place at noon on Thursday, August 6, on the southwest side of the Carle Richland Memorial Hospital campus.
Carle Health opens North Star Cafe in Pekin. Posted: Aug 3, 2026 / 10:28 PM CDT Updated: Aug 3, 2026 / 10:28 PM CDT PEKIN, Ill. (WMBD) - The scent of fresh salad, a hot cup of coffee, chocolate chip cookies and hot sandwiches will now be drifting out the doors of Carle Health Pekin Hospital. On Monday, members of the community and Carle Health joined together to cut the ribbon announcing North Star Cafe. The eatery is included in Carle Health's $8 million investment in Pekin Hospital facilities. Tony Howard, Vice President of Support Services at Carle Health, spoke at the event and said it's an investment into Pekin. "What we want to do is build a place that the Pekin community can come and gather," he said. He said the cafe isn't just catered to the hospital's employees but to anyone who needs a quick bite. "One of the nice things about it is that not only can our employees have access to it. Our patients and family members can enjoy this as well," he said. "But we're also hoping the public actually can come and stop in for lunch or stop in the morning and get a coffee." And after careful consideration on designing the menu, it now includes a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options. And by adding a tie to the local community, they've added items based on the Pekin Dragon, such as Dragon Hot Sauce and Dragon Frozen Lemonade. Howard said eating fresh and local is the motive behind the menu. "They're using locally sourced ingredients and wholesome foods, clean ingredients for clean, healthy food," he said. While being able to connect to their patients and anyone who comes in for their morning coffee, he said this will be the place to do it. "We want to do is build a place that the Pekin community can come and gather."
