  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • A current Education Specialist Instruction teaching credential (internship, preliminary, or clear) or an out-of-state equivalent.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction and support to scholars with special education needs to achieve IEP goals and conduct quarterly progress monitoring of each scholar’s IEP goals.
  • Prepare and deliver instructional materials using the Intellectual Planning and Prep protocol and the school’s rigorous, aligned curriculum.
  • Ensure access to learning in the core program and guide progress toward standards and requirements.
  • Develop and implement appropriate Behavior Support Plans or behavior-management techniques for instructional and interpersonal activities.
  • Identify and guide the implementation of appropriate accommodations and modifications to support learning in the general education classroom.
  • Facilitate and lead IEP meetings, conduct assessments, prepare IEP reports, and maintain inter-agency and district contacts regarding IEPs.
  • Manage cases and maintain Welligent compliance for the partner Academic Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and instructional assistants to develop and monitor scholars’ success in the general education program.
  • Communicate and collaborate with families regarding student behavior and academic progress and engage them in the IEP process.
  • Lead rigorous classroom instruction in mathematics, reading, phonics, writing, science, social studies, and morning meeting.
  • Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations for students.
  • Use culturally responsive and restorative practices for class-community building and repair.
  • Attend IEP, Student Success Team, and 504 meetings as scheduled.
  • Supervise and facilitate portions of the weekly Friday Community Meeting school assembly.
  • Participate actively in weekly professional development focused on school culture and academics.
  • Participate in weekly collaborative grade-level team meetings and regular one-on-one meetings and feedback sessions with a coach or supervisor.
  • Perform other duties supporting students and the school community.
