About the job

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant hands-on experience through internships, co-ops, or project work in supply chain, manufacturing, quality, or materials in an industrial environment.
  • Foundational understanding of how digital systems and manufacturing operations connect, including how data moves from machines and shop floor processes into the business systems that planners, engineers, and leaders rely on.
  • Hands-on experience with digital tools, data analysis, or process improvement, which can come from internships, capstone work, or personal projects.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and no-code or low-code platforms, shown through projects or coursework; comfortable building and testing digital solutions without writing production-level code.
  • Willingness to spend time on the floor and learn from frontline teams, earning trust through curiosity and the quality of what is built rather than through organizational authority.
Responsibilities
  • Engage directly with frontline teams, including planners, operators, quality engineers, buyers, and production control leaders, to surface and document real operational pain points; every solution starts with a validated problem, not a technology.
  • Work with Global Process Digital Authorities and subject matter experts, with guidance from Senior New Technology Introduction Leaders, to validate problem statements, confirm functional requirements, and ensure that a digital or AI solution is the right answer before building begins.
  • Build and iterate on AI agents, automated workflows, and digital tools using no-code and low-code platforms, in close partnership with Digital Technology and AI teams. Build with scalability in mind, learning the standards that allow solutions to be deployed across sites.
  • Move from problem to working prototype quickly. Experiment freely, learn from what does not work, and treat a failed prototype as progress toward the right solution. Speed of experimentation is as important as quality of output.
  • Document every solution thoroughly: what it does, why it is designed the way it is, and how it connects to the broader data and process landscape. A solution that cannot be explained and handed off is not finished.
  • Support the evaluation of third-party AI solutions that address validated frontline problems.
  • Build functional depth in one or more supply chain domains by supporting a Global Process Digital Authority's priorities.
  • Work closely with Global Process Digital Authorities throughout solution development to ensure tools reflect global process standards and integrate cleanly with existing systems and data flows. Partner with the Master Data Governance team to confirm data requirements and field mapping before any solution is tested with frontline users.
  • Contribute to the handoff package when a solution is ready to scale: functional documentation, training materials, data requirements, and a summary of pilot outcomes.
  • Support Digital Technology and AI teams as proven prototypes are formalized and incorporated into the organization's global digital ecosystem, helping ensure they are supported, maintained, and available for deployment across all sites.
Desired Qualifications
  • Personal or academic projects using AI tools, workflow automation, or data integration.
  • Exposure to supply chain systems such as SAP, Oracle, or manufacturing execution systems, including through internships.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation concepts such as machines, sensors, and controls, and curiosity about how their data can be put to work.
  • Lean or continuous improvement mindset; applies the same discipline to digital solutions that lean applies to process improvement: identify the problem, prove the solution, then standardize.
  • Energized by fast iteration and comfortable shipping imperfect first versions to real users. More interested in learning what works than in being right about what should work.
  • Strong documentation habits; explains the reasoning behind design decisions, not just what was built.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and working in a team that operates with urgency inside a large global organization.

Venture Global's 16 gas power units deal ties GE Vernova deeper into AI data centre power

Venture Global has signed multi-year frame agreements with GE Vernova and Baker Hughes for up to 16 new gas-fired power island units, each rated at 720MW, plus grid equipment. The units will supply behind-the-meter power for its LNG facilities and potential AI data centres without drawing on public grids. The deal ties GE Vernova's gas turbines and grid hardware to privately controlled industrial networks rather than regulated utilities. It deepens the company's exposure to energy-hungry AI computing. GE Vernova expects 125GW under contract by 2026. Risks include weaker European demand, wind losses, tariffs, restructuring costs, and project delays. Analysts' bullish case sees 2029 revenue of $64.7 billion and earnings of $10.7 billion. A more cautious view puts them at $57.8 billion and $6.3 billion.

GE Vernova up 600% since spin-off, with a $176B backlog: is the dip a buying chance?

GE Vernova's shares have risen nearly 600% since the company was spun off from GE Aerospace in 2024, driven by demand for electricity from artificial intelligence data centres. The stock has been in a lull since April. In the second quarter, its power division's revenue grew 14% to $5.5 billion, while new orders rose 134% to $16.7 billion, mostly for natural gas turbines. Its electrification arm's revenue climbed 68% to $3.6 billion, with orders up 93% to more than $6.3 billion. Total backlog stands at $176 billion, more than three times next year's expected revenue of $53 billion. Manufacturing capacity is the main bottleneck. About 80% of customers are traditional, and 20% are data centres. Most analysts rate the stock a strong buy, with a consensus price target of $1,199.47.

GE Vernova stock down 10.1% as gas turbine prices and $12.5B cash guide face six-month test

GE Vernova stock has fallen 10.1% since April 21, 2026, while the S&P 500 gained 9.8%. Investors appear to be betting that customers will keep paying rising prices for its gas turbines, with cash up front. Management expects at least 125 gigawatts of equipment under contract by the end of 2026. The company's third-quarter results, due around October 28, will show whether turbine prices keep climbing. In July, management said first-half equipment orders were priced more than 20% above fourth-quarter 2025 orders. Full-year free cash flow is due around January 26, 2027. Management raised its 2026 guide to $11.5 billion to $12.5 billion, from $6.5 billion to $7.5 billion. Wind revenue is expected to fall at a low double-digit rate in the third quarter.
