  • A bachelor's degree with a concentration in business, accounting, finance, banking, or equivalent financial services experience and related training is required.
  • At least five years of financial services experience working with clients in banking, investments, and/or retail lending, or one year of experience in a financial client relationship manager role, is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of personal financial planning, advisory, insurance, investment management, asset allocation, retail credit, and traditional retail banking products for the mass affluent market is required.
  • Securities Industry Essentials, FINRA Series 7, FINRA Series 66 (or Series 63 and 65), and applicable Life, Health, and Variable Insurance licenses must be active and maintained or obtained within 100–150 days of job entry.
  • Active FINRA licenses must be transferred within 60 days of job entry.
  • The employee must be compliant with the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act within 30 days of employment, including new or transferred registration and an applicable NMLS-acceptable background check.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, and relationship management skills are required.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office software, are required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of mass affluent clients.
  • Sell, deliver, and provide ongoing service for fee-income and retail banking products and services appropriate to mass affluent clients.
  • Establish and periodically update an understanding of client financial needs and conditions through profiling and personal financial planning analysis.
  • Work with the financial advisor on assigned investment accounts to support investment and asset allocation objectives and policies.
  • Monitor economic, legal, financial planning, investment, market, and business issues affecting mass affluent clients.
  • Provide personal financial planning and advisory resources to clients, their attorneys, and Certified Public Accountants.
  • Meet revenue growth, profitability, and retention goals by developing new clients, expanding services, and marketing products to existing clients.
  • Participate in the sales management process, including client service behaviors, Truist segmentation models, the automated sales process, and referral processes and guidelines.
  • Monitor, maintain, and update sales activity, pipeline, and other pertinent information in the bank's contact management system.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with Truist product and service specialists in banking, mortgage, planning, investments, and insurance.
  • Ensure an integrated approach to developing, servicing, and enhancing the client portfolio and advocate for clients with internal partners.
  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships with external centers of influence to support business development.
  • Work within audit, compliance, and regulatory frameworks to maintain a high-quality, compliant portfolio of client relationships.
  • Participate in the implementation and development of the Premier Banking program, including processes, products, services, and operating policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in business, accounting, finance, or banking is preferred.
  • Mass affluent banking experience is preferred.
  • Completion or enrollment in professional certification programs is preferred, including Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Analyst, Accredited Asset Management Specialist, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor, Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, or Chartered Financial Consultant.
  • Completion of a Leadership Development Program or Banking School, such as the Truist Leadership Development Program or Banking School, is preferred.

Truist exits $5.5B auto-loan business, cuts 205 jobs in Texas facility closure

Truist Bank is exiting the auto-finance business and closing its Regional Acceptance Corporation facility in Arlington, Texas, resulting in 205 job losses. The bank has agreed to sell $5.5 billion in near-prime auto loans, representing substantially all of Regional Acceptance's assets. The closure will occur in phases between November 2026 and February 2027. Truist expects to receive approximately $5.2 billion in net proceeds and a $535 million recapture of loan-loss reserves from the transaction. Regional Acceptance, which has operated in auto lending for over four decades, specialises in financing for borrowers outside the prime-credit segment. The business produced approximately break-even pretax earnings during the first half of 2026. Truist said the move will improve its credit profile and generate approximately $945 million in common equity tier 1 capital whilst reducing nonperforming loans.

Truist Financial sells $5.5B auto loan portfolio, exits near-prime lending business

Truist Financial will sell its $5.5 billion near-prime auto loan portfolio and exit its Regional Acceptance Corporation business. The transaction is expected to generate approximately $950 million in capital and modestly improve earnings, tangible book value and credit metrics. CFO Mike Maguire said the business was roughly break-even despite loan yields of about 12%, as marginal funding costs of around 4% and loss rates of 7% to 8% offset the returns. The sale is under contract and represents substantially all of the unit's assets. The bank reaffirmed its financial outlook, including third-quarter net interest income growth of about 1.5% and full-year growth of 1% to 1.5%. However, the sale is expected to reduce net interest margin by 4 to 5 basis points. CEO Mike Lyons is accelerating a portfolio review, with Truist focusing on relationship banking, deposits and commercial lending.

The bank is using generative AI to automate post-call documentation for service representatives throughout its support network. Additionally, Truist has appointed Tory Sherman as Wealth Brokerage national director to oversee its wealth-focused brokerage operations. The US banking group, with a reported market value of approximately $61.6 billion, operates retail banking, commercial lending, and wealth services across the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions. These initiatives align with Truist's broader strategy to reduce operational costs through digital adoption and technology investments whilst positioning itself for revenue and margin expansion.
