NRI earns highest rating in CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment for seventh consecutive year. Jul. 16, 2026 Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. On May 18, 2026, Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. ("NRI") was named a Supplier Engagement Leader as a company proactively engaged in climate change initiatives throughout the supply chain in the 2025 "Supplier Engagement Assessment" ("SEA") by CDP[1], an environmental issue-related information disclosure platform. NRI has now received the highest rating in the SEA for a seventh consecutive year, recognized for its actions worthy of a global leader for its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets throughout the supply chain, its initiatives for climate change risk reduction, and its collaboration with business partners in pursuit of these goals. NRI was also selected as a "CDP A List" company[2], the highest possible rating, in a 2025 climate change survey by CDP. About the SEA. The CDP Climate Change Questionnaire is a corporate survey which encourages disclosure of, evaluates, and publishes companies' greenhouse gas emissions reduction activities and climate change mitigation efforts. CDP's SEA is intended to accelerate emissions-related initiatives in the global supply chain by evaluating the collaborative efforts made by purchasing organizations and companies with suppliers and designating and sharing best practices. The SEAis based on responses to questions in multiple key areas of the CDP Climate Change Questionnaire (Risk Management Process, Governance and Business Strategy, Supplier Engagement, Scope 3 Emissions, and Targets). Furthermore, the overall CDP Climate Change Questionnaire score is considered as part of a company's overall performance with respect to climate change. Companies that achieve the highest rating in the SEA are recognized as Supplier Engagement Leaders. NRI's climate change-related Engagement with business partners. To reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from its business activities throughout the supply chain, NRI Group has set targets of "reducing Scope 3[3] emissions by 30% from FY2019 levels by FY2030" and "achieving net zero emissions[4], including Scope 3, by FY2050"[5] . To help achieve these targets, we have conducted a "Sustainability Dialogue"[6] with Japanese and international business partners to exchange views on climate change and other sustainability topics. In addition, since FY2021, we have participated in the CDP Supply Chain Program[7], in an effort to more accurately determine our Scope 3 emissions. Furthermore, since FY2022, we have held workshops and individual consultation sessions for our business partners on the setting of greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets. These efforts to reach out to our business partners on climate change have been internationally recognized as high-level, and we believe this success played a role in our current selection as a Supplier Engagement Leader. Under the corporate philosophy of "Dream Up the Future", the NRI Group will continue to create new value together with its various stakeholders to address climate change and other societal issues, thereby contributing to the creation of a sustainable future society.
