Cozey announces opening of newest retail location in Montreal.

Cozey announces opening of newest retail location in Montreal. Cozey, international leader in home living and furniture solutions, announces the opening of its newest retail location in Montreal, marking a significant milestone for the brand as it opens its first permanent store in the city where it is headquartered and where the business first launched in 2020. "It feels good to bring Cozey home," says Frederic Aubé, Founder and CEO of Cozey. "The very first Cozey sofa was designed to combat the realities of Montreal living: tight staircases, compact spaces, and ultimately, what we saw was a need for furniture that works harder for modern homes and customers. To be back on the ground, permanently, where it all began, and to have the opportunity to connect with and learn more from our customers here is incredibly meaningful for us. We have a week's worth of celebrations planned to make the most of the homecoming that it is." Located in the heart of downtown Montreal on rue Saint-Catherine, the new 3,700-square-foot store will provide Montrealers with a long-awaited opportunity to experience the complete Cozey collection in person, from living room essentials to bedroom furniture and mattresses. The showroom will also feature Cozey's most recent launches such as the Cassini Sofa, the brand's first modular curved sofa, as well as two new sleeper designs: the Orian Sofa-Bed and Atmosphere Sleeper Sofa. The Montreal opening arrives during a year of momentum for Cozey propelled by rapid growth across its product lineup and physical retail spaces, as well as international expansion by way of its e-commerce launch in Australia earlier this year. These strides take Cozey well beyond its digital roots as it now operates six retail locations across North America, three of them permanent, with a flagship New York store slated to open in early 2027. At the same time, Cozey continues to innovate its product portfolio with new categories and designs to support new areas of the home. Together, these efforts reflect Cozey's continued investment in creating furniture that gives customers endless possibilities and a seamless shopping experience, both online and in-store. Though for Cozey, this Montreal store represents more than a new market; it's a homecoming. Known for its creativity, individuality, and design-forward culture, the city has long shaped Cozey's understanding of how people live and what they need from their spaces. Its influence continues to inform the brand's approach to furniture design which blends function, flexibility, and style in ways that reflect urban living. Cozey looks forward to celebrating its arrival with the Montreal community thanks to a series of customer focused activities scheduled throughout opening week. Canadian furniture brand Cozey makes 'natural' move to Australia.

Canadian furniture brand Cozey makes 'natural' move to Australia. Canadian furniture brand Cozey has launched in Australia, with the company's CEO calling it the "natural next step". Starting life in 2020 as a digital-only brand, Cozey has grown from its Montreal base to three countries. It first opened a permanent flagship in Toronto in 2023, before entering the US with a Los Angeles pop-up store. Its online-only Australian operation will be based in Sydney. Now home to more than 300 employees, Cozey said it has been "delivering high double-digit year-on-year growth, and even faster acceleration in the US". A large part of this growth has been driven by its founder and CEO, Fred Aube, who followed the "mattress in a box" trend and applied it to sofas. "Our ambition has always been to become the world's leading home brand, one that people genuinely love living with," Aube said. "Australia is a design-conscious, quality-driven market, and bringing Cozey here feels like a natural next chapter. We're not just launching a product range. We're opening a home of possibilities." In January 2025, Aube told Axios that Cozey is already exceeding US$100 million in revenue, as he sought to raise US$25 million to fund the start-up.

Cozey: innovation without borders.

Cozey: innovation without borders. La Caisse in Québec Montréal, April 7, 2026 At Cozey, ambition is expressed in many ways: innovative design, a revamped distribution network and international expansion. Founded in 2020 and based in Québec, the company specializes in furniture design and manufacturing. With steady growth, and driven by a clear ambition, Cozey strives to meet the needs of consumers looking for modern, made-to-measure furniture. The company is known for its resolutely international approach. Founding President Frédéric Aubé, explains how La Caisse has helped structure the company's strong growth. Trust as a pillar of collaboration. With a degree in finance and economics from McGill University, Frédéric launched his career at Tonus Capital, a Montréal investment fund. But in the middle of the pandemic - while he was still a student - he founded Cozey. It was a simple yet promising idea: a solid sofa with a minimalist design, competitively priced, easy to assemble and deliverable by courier. He quickly put together a team. He turned to one of his mentors, Dominic Létourneau. After mulling things over for a few months, Dominic signed on as a partner, becoming the company's first employee. Through the mid-market company offering, La Caisse teamed up with Cozey nearly two years after its launch. At that time, the company was at a turning point: it needed a financial partner with a far-reaching vision, able to provide long-term support. La Caisse's patient capital model was a natural fit. In addition to a $10 million investment, La Caisse supported Cozey in updating its governance and management practices. At first, the company did not have a Board of Directors, but La Caisse helped it set one up. The Board is made up of experienced directors supportive of management's strategic reflections, particularly in the areas of logistics and marketing. "I was looking for a strategic partner that would respect our autonomy. La Caisse is there to support us when required, but gives us the space we need to move forward. This approach fosters our growth as well as establishing ourselves as a serious player." - Frédéric Aubé, president and founder of Cozey A well designed and well-executed business model. When selecting a new location, Cozey leaves nothing to chance. Various criteria are taken into consideration, including demographics, language, regulatory frameworks and consumer patterns. If a market looks promising, a pop-up store is set up for six to nine months so consumers have a chance to see, touch and try out the products. Those efforts are supported by digital marketing, social media and collaborations with influencers. If the response is favourable, a permanent store is opened. Today, Cozey currently has around 300 employees across Canada and the United States, as well as six distribution centres, and will have six stores by the end of the year. This summer, the company will open a store in Montréal, where a number of new products will be on offer, including a collection of beds. The benefits of networking. In addition to providing financial support, La Caisse serves as a catalyst for making connections within its business ecosystem. For Cozey, these introductions open new doors, fast-track certain decisions and strengthen strategic links across Canada and around the world. Concrete support to expand the Cozey brand "In our U.S. expansion, we are working with another portfolio company while benefiting from strategic business relationships in Mexico, where we launched our manufacturing operations in late 2023. Having access to a solid network is a real growth driver for us." - Frédéric Aubé, president and founder of Cozey Going international step-by-step. Cozey's international expansion began in June with the launch of its U.S. site and the opening of an East Coast distribution centre in New Jersey. Today, the U.S. market accounts for nearly 40% of the company's revenues. Cozey's expansion is a step-by-step process, following a clearly defined road map. In April 2026, Cozey plans to enter the market in Sydney, Australia. The U.K. is among the company's priorities for 2027, followed by certain European markets in 2028. Asia is in the company's sights for 2030. "My long-term ambition is for Cozey to become an international ambassador for Québec - like IKEA is for Sweden! We're ambitious and motivated, and we have a promising timeline." - Frédéric Aubé, president and founder of Cozey Capital. Expertise. Network. Providing Québec mid-market companies with the means to achieve their ambitions Our offer to mid-market companies provides access to financing and support for companies with strong growth potential to propel them to the next stage in their growth.

Cozey opens Venice Beach pop-up store as part of North American retail expansion

Cozey, a North American furniture company, is opening a pop-up store in Los Angeles' Venice Beach neighbourhood on 8 April. The 5,000-square-foot showroom on Abbot Kinney Boulevard will operate through December 2026, featuring the company's modular sofas, washable rugs and outdoor collection. The opening follows successful retail experiences on the East Coast and marks Cozey's expansion into its second-largest US market. Since launching US e-commerce in late 2023, the company has learned that physical presence is crucial for customers, according to CEO Frédéric Aubé. Cozey plans additional permanent stores in Montreal and New York in 2026, following successful pop-up runs. The company also intends to launch in Australia later this year, expanding its international footprint beyond North America.
