Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One to three years of applicable experience is required.
Responsibilities
  • Open and close the kitchen as required, ensuring operations run smoothly.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Prepare and present breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks daily to high-quality standards.
  • Create and present food for parent weekends and other special events as directed by the Chef de Cuisine.
  • Execute menus generated by the Chef de Cuisine, following recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Adjust meal preparations based on communicated dietary restrictions and client preferences.
  • Provide healthful, nutritious, and organic meals and snacks as directed to support clients’ well-being.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including regularly cleaning refrigerators, freezers, ovens, floors, and dishes after each meal and food preparation.
  • Follow state health and hygiene requirements and Newport Healthcare standards.
  • Engage positively with parents and other guests, building appropriate rapport with clients to enhance dining experiences and foster positive associations with mealtimes.
  • Participate in baking or cooking groups as directed.
Desired Qualifications
  • A State Food Safety Certification is preferred.
