About the job

Requirements
  • Experience photographing fast-moving subjects such as sports, dance, concerts, theatre, gymnastics, figure skating, cheerleading, or other live events.
  • Comfort shooting in manual mode with continuous autofocus (Servo/AF-C) under changing lighting conditions.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Residence within approximately one hour of a major airport.
  • Availability for regular weekend travel throughout the February–June competition season.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license.
  • A passport or REAL ID-compliant driver's license.
  • Ability to drive 5–6 hours when required.
  • Ability to work long production days and lift approximately 25 pounds.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Two Canon, Nikon, or Sony mirrorless camera bodies.
  • A compatible 24–105mm, 24–120mm, 24–70mm, or 35–150mm constant-aperture zoom lens.
  • A 70–200mm zoom lens.
  • Four 64GB or larger memory cards and a compatible card reader.
  • At least three batteries and two chargers.
  • A monopod.
Responsibilities
  • Photograph fast-moving dance performances under changing stage lighting.
  • Capture sharp, well-timed action images.
  • Work alongside DanceBUG's media team at live competitions.
  • Back up, transfer, and upload images using DanceBUG's workflow.
Desired Qualifications
  • An f/2.8 lens; f/4 is accepted.
  • A live-action photography portfolio.
  • Experience with sports, dance, concerts, theatre, gymnastics, figure skating, cheerleading, or other live events.
