About the job
- Must be able to commute to and from Vallejo, California.
- Must clear an in-person FBI-DOJ background check.
- Must have current college enrollment or have completed an associate degree, bachelor's degree, or higher.
- Must be able to make learning fun and interactive, with tutoring focus often determined by student questions and comments.
- Must be comfortable working in a classroom setting.
- Must have a negative tuberculosis test result.
- Experience working with students with special needs and accommodations is highly preferred.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is highly preferred.
- Conduct engaging one-on-one tutoring sessions for students with special education needs.
- Develop personalized lesson plans and strategies aligned with each student's Individualized Education Plan.
- Adapt materials, assessments, and teaching methods to fit each student's learning style and needs.
- Track and document student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and special education teams to provide a cohesive learning experience.
- Communicate with parents or guardians about student progress and address concerns.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment that supports students' emotional and behavioral growth.
- Stay current on special education trends and best practices and incorporate them into lessons.
- Help students with daily activities, provide moral support, and deliver tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience.
