The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking an academicallyoriented full-time Hematopathologist to join our growing department. This faculty position offers a rich opportunity for involvement in a diverse and high-volume pathology practice, coupled with significant research and teaching prospects.
The departmentis experiencing rapid growth and has establishedasubspecialization practice model, performing over 5 million tests and accessioningover 45,000 surgicalpathologycasesannuallywith alarge case variety.Our Hematopathology service supports a robust Bone Marrow Transplant and Hematology service with over 3,500 Bone Marrow and 6,000 Flow Cytometry cases per year.
The Department and The University of Kansas Health System, with an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, provides rich opportunities for clinical and translational research, both within the Department and within the Medical Center.
The successfulcandidate should possess strong diagnostic skills with subspecialtytraining orexperience in Hematopathology. In additionto participatingin diagnostic sign outof 1 or 2 subspecialtyareas,the candidatewillbe expected to have a strong commitment to education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows, anddevelop research projectsreflective of his/herowninterests.
Required Qualifications:
MD, MD/Ph.D., DOor equivalent
Board certified/boardeligibleinAnatomic/ClinicalPathology
Fellowship training or experience in Hematopathology
Eligibilityforlicensure in Kansas and Missouri
