Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One to two years of experience in a public-contact position is required, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
  • Ability to work overnight.
  • Ability to use computer systems, including Opera, Go Concierge, HotSOS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, at an intermediate to proficient level is preferred.
  • Ability to enter and locate work-related information using computers and point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to spend extended periods viewing a computer screen.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain positive and productive working relationships with employees and departments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
  • Ability to stand or walk for a minimum eight-hour shift.
  • Ability to observe and respond quickly to situations while multitasking and handling stressful situations.
  • Ability to twist, push or pull, reach, bend, climb, and carry objects as necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to work inside and outside throughout the year as business volumes require.
Responsibilities
  • Welcome, greet, and check guests in.
  • Provide guests with knowledge of the hotel, its services, the city, and local happenings.
  • Handle guest requests accurately and provide appropriate service, attention, and follow-up.
  • Differentiate among guest types, including confirmed or claimed reservations, walk-ins, VIP guests, and groups, and handle them appropriately.
  • Follow up on arrivals, registration-card modifications, special requests, rate changes, room changes, account inquiries, and reservation inquiries using prescribed procedures.
  • Respond to guest requests, accidents, and thefts promptly, within 20 minutes, and record matters in HotSOS or the hotel-specific recording process.
  • Update and maintain the reception handover book and communicate guest feedback to the manager on duty.
  • Protect guest privacy and security and maintain confidentiality of guest information.
  • Follow required procedures and policy standards.
  • Maintain front-desk supplies, manage par stock, and order supplies.
  • Complete reports and audits during the overnight shift.
  • Apply hotel credit policies for cash, credit-card, company-account, voucher, third-party, and international-currency payments.
  • Encourage upselling to maximize rates.
  • Keep work areas clean and maintained.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by a supervisor or manager.
  • Perform related lateral-service tasks as needed to provide guest service.
