Summary
The Line Training Specialist is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all training that takes place inside the aircraft. Duties include the oversight and management of ensuring training coverage, travel management, FAA compliance, both student and instructor resources, and stewardship of training assets.
Additionally, the Line Training Specialist will assist the Supervisor of Line Training with enhanced communication between students and instructors, and the facilitation and scheduling of all company line training, regulatory training events, and student or instructor travel. Often the Line Training Specialist provides data and analytical support for the training scheduling/planning processes while meeting contractual deadlines. The Line Training Specialist strives to drive down crew/operational training costs thru proper scheduling and increased utilization of resources.
This position reports to the Supervisor of Line Training and directly supports: Crew Scheduling, Crew Planning, ATS, Line Check Airman, crew members, the Federal Aviation Administration, finance, payroll, and third-party vendors. Regulatory compliance, schedule continuity and adherence to policies and procedures are imperative responsibilities held with this position.

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Education Details: Equivalent work experience may be considered.
Years of Experience:
•Minimum three (3) years total experience in airline industry.
•Minimum three (3) years experience in part 135/121 scheduling/dispatching experience or minimum three (3) years Crew/Training scheduling experience.
•Excellent computer skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
•Able to speak, read and understand English in order to receive and understand instructions, directives, and ensure safety.
•Exceptional ability to control, manage and coordinate multiple departments in challenging multiple operational situations while simultaneously making informed decisions in a timely
•manner with goal driven outcomes.
•Ability to display the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
•Ability to function in a high stress role and work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment.
•Ability to display a high level of self-discipline, and motivation while taking on a leadership role as needed to interact effectively with all levels or personnel.
•Demonstrate conflict resolution skills.
•Must have the availability and willingness to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Requirements
•Airline experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements.
•Working knowledge of FAR 121 and FAR 117 operations as they pertain to crew training/scheduling operations.
•Working knowledge of current crew management systems and scheduling systems.
Job Duties
•Ensure all operational training meets contractual and regulatory compliance.
•Schedule all line training events for pilots and flight attendants according to their individual requirements determined by Flight Ops, Inflight, and the FAA.
•Manage operational resources of the airline to ensure maximum operational performance as measured and directed by management.
•Create work schedules that ensure proper and successful interaction between instructors and students that will ensure training deadlines are met.
•Ensure all training data is entered into appropriate data tracking tools.
•Work alongside the records and qualification division to ensure 100% compliance.
•Ensure timely training of scheduled FAA events.
•Ensure the daily operations of training is safe, efficient, and that performance goals are met.
•Coordination of policy updates and enforcement based on regulatory changes under the direction of the Flight Operations Director, Manager of Crew Planning and Line Training, and the Directors of Flight Safety and Flight Standards.
•Adhere to guidance and direction while maintaining an effective working relationship with various Management teams.
•Record support: assist in record keeping and qualifications maintenance.
•Travel support: assist in booking hotels, and transportation for crew members and instructors.
•Assure there is a constant and timely flow of information between all departments, instructors, management, and operational crew members.
•Field concerns and complaints by instructors, crew members, the respective Management teams and departments.
•Foster a positive work environment that values open communication, trust and personal accountability.
•Advise and assist with analytics dependent on training schedules.
•Control, update and maintain class records database for all operational initial and recurrent training.
•Collect, maintain, and report on operating statistics, as directed by the Line Training Supervisor.
•Act as liaison between departments as it pertains to this position.
•Build monthly schedules for pilots released from training.
•Daily monitoring of pilots who are under Consolidation of Knowledge (COK), Green-on-Green, or High Minimum requirements and ensure they meet their hours prior to expiration.
•With all scheduling of training events, ensure operational coverage and integrity is maintained and Crew Scheduling is aware of any risks to the operation that might be present due to training events.
•Other duties as assigned.

May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
