WHY WE’RE HERE

Develop mission autonomy software for unmanned systems across multiple domains to enable execution of complex ISR and strike missions with coordinated kinetic effects in denied, degraded, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) environments. This is an opportunity to place Anduril at the core of advancing the next generation of warfare using mass-scale attritable unmanned systems with opportunity for operational deployment within year horizon. The team will be responsible for developing next generation of software-defined unmanned systems leveraging technologies and tools including edge computing, secure communications, fleet management, perception and planning (computer vision, motion planning, SLAM, controls, state estimation), and more.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
We are hiring a Mission Software Engineer to lead the design and build of digital engineering infrastructure and environments for heterogeneous unmanned systems. You will:

Set the strategic vision for Anduril’s simulation and test environments for unmanned systems.
Build and integrate model-, software-, and hardware-in-the-loop components by leveraging first and third party technologies related to simulation, data management, compute infrastructure, networking, and more.
Manage the various needs of both internal and external stakeholders to build and integrate tooling suites which evaluate autonomy and vehicle performance across a diverse range of conditions and reference missions.
Collaborate with internal team members and external partners in the autonomy domain to build technologies and processes which enable users to safely and rapidly develop and deploy autonomous systems at scale.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
High ownership and autonomy across the end-to-end lifecycle of software development.
At least 4 years working with a variety of programming languages such as Rust, Go, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.
Experience with customer-oriented UI/UX development.
Experience leading small teams of cross functional engineers to design, build, and deploy software systems.
Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
U.S.Citizen is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data.
Must hold a United States Top Secret clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience implementing robot or autonomous vehicle testing frameworks in a software-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) environment.
Experience with modern build and deployment tooling (e.g. NixOS, Terraform).
Experience designing complex software systems, and iterating upon designs via a technical design review process.
Familiarity with industry standard monitoring, logging, and data management tools and best practices.
A bias towards rapid delivery and iteration.

US Salary Range

$132,000—$198,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril’s total compensation package.
