- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Expert knowledge of off-road heavy equipment is required.
- Expert knowledge of diesel engines and operating systems is required.
- Expert knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems is required.
- Expert knowledge of driveline components is required.
- Expert knowledge of steering mechanics and suspensions is required.
- A valid driver's license and good driving record are required.
- The ability to travel by ground and air is required.
- The ability to obtain a commercial driver's license if required is needed.
- Mechanical skills are required.
- Welding, cutting, and fabrication skills are required.
- The ability to manipulate tools and operate equipment is required.
- The ability to read and write and understand manuals is required.
- Travel to Levy locations via field service truck or air.
- Inspect mobile equipment.
- Operate and inspect equipment to assess malfunctions.
- Use computerized diagnostic systems, including CAT ET and Cummins, to identify malfunctions.
- Recommend repair processes and parts to order.
- Participate in the training and development of less-skilled mechanics.
- Operate and maintain the field service truck.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment to access areas of concern.
- Examine parts for excessive wear and determine reusability.
- Repair, replace, clean, and lubricate parts and components as necessary.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Weld, cut, and fabricate equipment and components.
- Complete maintenance checklists and test repaired equipment to verify accurate repair completion.
- Recommend equipment for repair by outside sources when necessary.
- Maintain records and reporting.
- Meet customer service requirements.
- Comply with all safety regulations and policies.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
