Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of inspection experience in CEI roadway and bridge construction, transportation facilities, and/or infrastructure, including 1 year in bridge or roadway construction.
  • A high school diploma.
  • At least 2 years of progressive CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction.
  • A safety-first mindset.
  • Strong writing, listening, and communication skills.
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I qualification.
  • CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I qualification.
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I qualification.
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I qualification.
  • FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic qualification.
  • Nuclear Radiation Safety qualification.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect and oversee CEI road and bridge construction work to ensure results, procedures, and materials comply with plans and specifications.
  • Serve as a daily inspector for all aspects of road and bridge construction, including construction observations, material testing, and documenting work activity.
  • Measure distances to verify the accuracy of road and bridge construction dimensions.
  • Work with other inspectors on a daily basis.
  • Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
  • Prepare material samples for laboratory testing.
  • Examine and approve the workmanship of finished installations for conformity to client standards.
  • Interpret plans and specifications and discuss deviations from specified construction procedures with the contractor to ensure compliance with construction regulations.
  • Record quantities of materials received or used during specified periods and develop pay estimates and change orders.
  • Maintain daily logs of construction and inspection activities and compare progress reports.
  • Monitor several types of work activities.
  • Apply construction safety practices and work methods to ensure compliance.
  • Manage documents using Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, MAC, and PrC.
  • Work nights and weekends.
  • Lift up to 70 pounds.

  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II qualification, or willingness to obtain it within the first year.
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II qualification, or willingness to obtain it within the first year.
  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection qualification, or willingness to obtain it within the first year.
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection qualification, or willingness to obtain it within the first year; this is required for inspection of drilled shafts and foundations for sign, lighting, and traffic signal structures.
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I qualification, or willingness to obtain it within the first year.
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I qualification, or willingness to obtain it within the first year.
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors A-19; recommended when the project scope includes concrete pavement, concrete pavement grinding, or concrete pavement slab replacement.
  • ACI Field Inspector qualification.
  • Troxler Nuclear Density Gauge certification.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers, clients, and contractors to solve problems and conflicts.
