What is multi-location retail video surveillance? Multi-location retail video surveillance enables retailers to centrally manage video security across stores, warehouses, and other facilities. Cloud-managed platforms can provide remote access, centralized management, intelligent search, proactive alerts, and secure clip sharing to help retail security teams investigate incidents and improve security Securing numerous locations in a single pane of glass. With theft and other crimes continuing to threaten operations, the NAPA Auto Parts team wanted a solution that would enable proactive response and streamline investigations. The organization began the search for a solution that could provide clear, quality evidence of any incidents that occurred across facilities to improve response times and collaboration with law enforcement. Overnight freight delivery, a key part of NAPA Auto Parts' operations, presented a particular security challenge. When drivers arrive after hours, they need to be able to access certain areas without being able to roam freely around the facility. As such, NAPA Auto Parts wanted to find a system that could easily track movement around the property to keep assets and locations secured. An open platform was another priority for the company. Integrating video security with the organization's other business solutions would enable greater insight into processes across facilities and further improve security. NAPA Auto Parts also wanted the ability to reach out and receive continuous system support alongside frequent updates to the chosen platform. Finding an advanced cloud video surveillance solution with OpenEye. After seeing the advanced capabilities that OpenEye Web Services (OWS) provided in its easy-to-use, flexible, and scalable platform, Bob Sweeney, Director of Asset Protection at NAPA Auto Parts, decided to select OWS as the company's chosen surveillance solution. OpenEye enhanced NAPA Auto Parts' security operations through a variety of advanced capabilities, including proactive alerts, intelligent search, and streamlined sharing options. "For our company, reliability is incredibly important when it comes to security. Affordability is incredibly important, dependability is a very important quality, being able to stay ahead is very important. OpenEye has checked all those boxes." Bob Sweeney, Director of Asset Protection, NAPA Auto Parts How NAPA deployed cloud video surveillance across locations. NAPA Auto Parts deployed OpenEye IP cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), and OWS for the organization, which equipped it with everything it hoped to find in the new surveillance system. With a cloud solution, NAPA Auto Parts can easily leverage remote access and centralized management for greater visibility across numerous locations. This makes it easier to find the evidence needed and ensure that any incidents encountered can be resolved quickly and effectively. Cloud-Managed video for retail security and investigations. Upon deploying OWS, NAPA Auto Parts has strengthened security across locations through powerful alerts and intelligent search. Alerts in OWS enable NAPA Auto Parts to respond more proactively to critical incidents, helping deescalate situations or prevent cases of theft altogether if possible. Intelligent search features in the cloud surveillance platform allow video of past incidents to be surfaced quickly, with exporting and sharing options helping get video to law enforcement to speed investigations and ensure cases are closed in a timely manner. NAPA Auto Parts also now uses an open platform solution capable of combining multiple systems and data points to provide greater insight into operations across facilities. The team has integrated its exception-based reporting solution with video security, providing an additional layer of insight into issues of inventory discrepancy. This helps NAPA Auto Parts improve loss prevention efforts and unlock another efficiency to further streamline investigations. Finding support when NAPA needs it. Manatee County schools add new emergency camera system. Posted: Sep 30, 2026 / 08:12 PM EDT Updated: Sep 30, 2026 / 08:13 PM EDT MANATEE, Fla. (WFLA) - A new emergency alert system in Manatee County schools is giving deputies a new way to see what is happening inside a campus as they respond to a crisis. The system looks like an ID card, but clicking it eight times activates an emergency alert. Lights flash and notifications are sent across technology on the school campus. The biggest change comes next. Cameras already installed inside the schools can immediately stream live video to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. "We're able to look right in. These are crime analysts in our real time crime center that are the first eyes that are in there and able to relay that information to deputies as they're responding," said Randy Warren, public information officer for the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. The Manatee County School District approved a contract in May worth nearly $400,000 a year with cybersecurity companies Centegix and OpenEye. Warren says extensive training went into preparing the sheriff's office to use the technology. "Our analysts that are in our real time crime center are constantly getting updated training on all the various softwares and learning how they can turn on a grid and they can look at a floor plan and they can see where alarms are at and they can see where the exits and the doors are," Warren said. That real-time information could give deputies critical details before they even enter a school. "You never want to be blindsided. And now they have an opportunity to see what's happening. We're looking at the doors, the exits, and this is information that the deputies are getting as they're making entry into their whatever the scenario is," Warren said. The technology builds on panic button systems required in Florida schools under Alyssa's Law. The sheriff's office says the cameras are already active across the district and acknowledges some parents have raised privacy concerns. Officials say deputies and crime analysts only receive access to the live camera feeds during an active emergency. That access ends once the threat is lifted.
OpenEye and CENTEGIX integrate live video and emergency alerts to accelerate incident response. School District of Manatee County is among the first to leverage the integration, giving responders immediate access to live video alongside CrisisAlert(TM) emergency alerts. September 15, 2026 09:00 ET | Source: CENTEGIX ATLANTA, Sept. 15, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - CENTEGIX(R), the leader in rapid incident response safety solutions, today announced a new integration with OpenEye, a leading provider of cloud-managed video security solutions, that automatically delivers live OpenEye camera feeds into the CENTEGIX Safety Platform(R) when a CrisisAlert(TM) emergency alert is activated. The cloud-to-cloud integration connects OpenEye Web Services (OWS) with the CENTEGIX Safety Platform, automatically associating nearby camera feeds with CrisisAlert activations. By bringing alerts and live video into a single interface, security and responder teams can immediately assess an incident without switching between systems. The School District of Manatee County, in Florida, is among the first districts to leverage the integration, giving responders immediate access to live video alongside emergency alerts when a wearable panic button is activated. The automated visual context helps security teams assess incidents more quickly and make more informed decisions during emergencies. "Student success depends on creating schools where students and staff feel safe, supported, and ready to learn," said Dr. Laurie Breslin, Superintendent, School District of Manatee County in Bradenton, Florida. "By continuing to strengthen how we prepare for and respond to safety incidents, we're helping create the kind of environment where our educators can teach with confidence and our students can thrive." "The first question every responder asks is, 'What are we walking into?' With hundreds of cameras in a typical school, it's nearly impossible to quickly access the ones you need in real-time," said Scott Hansen, Chief Technology Officer, School District of Manatee County in Bradenton FL. "CENTEGIX now provides an immediate solution. Live video, maps, and context will be automatically streamed directly to dispatchers and first responders, turning our cameras into a real-time response resource rather than solely a post-event tool." Beyond emergency response, the integration simplifies post-incident investigations by pairing CENTEGIX alert data with OpenEye video, making it easier to locate, review, and share relevant footage. For K-12 organizations, it also supports school safety initiatives and helps districts meet state and local emergency response requirements, including Alyssa's Law where applicable. "We're thrilled to partner with CENTEGIX to provide users with rapid access to critical video during emergency situations," said Jon Swatzell, Vice President of Systems Engineering at OpenEye. "By combining OpenEye's cloud video platform with CENTEGIX's incident response capabilities, organizations can improve situational awareness and strengthen safety across their campuses and facilities." "Every second between receiving an alert and understanding what's happening matters," said Brent Cobb, CEO of CENTEGIX. "By bringing live video and location information together, this integration gives on-site teams and, when needed, emergency response personnel greater context to assess a situation and coordinate an appropriate response. It's another example of how connected technology can support faster, more informed action from everyday incidents to the most serious emergencies." The OpenEye integration is the latest addition to the CENTEGIX Platform Partner ecosystem, connecting industry-leading technologies that help organizations detect, understand, and respond to emergencies with greater speed and confidence. OpenEye AI Visual Search and AI Visual Check. 09/07/2026 OpenEye has expanded its cloud video management platform with two AI-powered capabilities designed to speed up video investigations and automate routine operational tasks. AI Visual Search and AI Visual Check use natural language processing and artificial intelligence to help users find relevant footage more quickly while improving the way organisations monitor day-to-day activity. The launch comes as OpenEye has been named a finalist in the Video Management Systems category of the 2026 Benchmark Innovation Awards, recognising the company's continued investment in AI-driven video management. AI Visual Search allows users to search recorded footage by describing what they are looking for in plain language. Rather than manually reviewing hours of video or configuring multiple search filters, operators can enter a description such as "a person carrying a box through the lobby yesterday afternoon", with the platform identifying the most relevant results from across connected cameras. This can significantly reduce investigation times while making video evidence easier to locate. Whether verifying events, tracking operational trends, or uncovering key moments, OpenEye puts the power of AI Visual Search in the hands of businesses, helping uncover greater opportunities for optimisation and fortified security. By leveraging AI Visual Search, organisations can utilise: * User-Friendly Searches: Designed for every user in mind, AI Visual Search makes it easy to search footage quickly and effectively. * Seamless Investigations: Accelerate investigations by describing a person or vehicle and letting AI surface the evidence you need. * Rapid Responses: Reduce incident response time by quickly surfacing needed footage so teams can act when it matters most. Designed to automate monitoring of business operations, safety protocols, and compliance across multiple locations, AI Visual Check provides proactive alerts when issues are detected. This includes individualised use cases such as blocked fire exits, an office safe open without employee present, or unattended security posts. AI Visual Check works by leveraging user-configured checks through simple prompt-based instructions. Once in place, businesses can receive highly customised alerts, set schedules, and stay notified only when conditions fall outside expectations to limit false alarms. The feature is designed to reduce reliance on manual inspections and help teams act faster when issues arise. By letting OpenEye handle routine visual verification, organisations save time, reduce unnecessary alerts, and gain greater understanding in what is happening across every location without anyone needing to sit in front of a screen. AI Visual Check gives businesses the power to: * Automate Visual Verification: AI analyses images to detect real business and safety issues across locations. * Proactively Monitor Operations: Stay proactive with alerts when action is needed and avoid manual walk throughs, in-person audits, and reactive complaints. * Improved Your Bottom Line: Protect revenue, improve customer experience, and ensure compliance with a clear return on investment. OpenEye's cutting-edge technologies are built to empower organisations across industries, with convenience and intuitive design foundational to AI Visual Search and AI Visual Check.
