Hector Midolo appointed CEO at Röhlig Logistics LATAM. Sep 2, 2026 at 5:20 PM Röhlig Logistics has announced a leadership change in the Latin America region. Michael Gerding has resigned from his position as Regional CEO LATAM effective August 31, 2026, and will take on a new role at OnBoard Logistics starting October 1, 2026. Hector Midolo will assume the role of Regional CEO LATAM at Röhlig Logistics effective September 1, 2026. Focus on continuity and growth. Philip W. Herwig, Managing Partner and Chairman of the Global Executive Board of Röhlig Logistics, emphasizes the importance of Latin America for the company: "Latin America remains an important region for Röhlig with significant development potential. With Hector Midolo, we have a leader who already knows our business in the Americas and can build on the progress made in recent years." Herwig highlights that this leadership change ensures continuity for customers, partners, and employees in the region. Robert Gutsche, Chief Financial Officer at Röhlig Logistics, acknowledges Michael Gerding's contributions: "Michael Gerding has made a significant contribution to the development of Röhlig in Latin America over more than two decades. We thank him for his outstanding work, loyalty, and great commitment." Gerding will remain closely connected to Röhlig in his new role at OnBoard Logistics and will represent the interests of the shareholders. Experienced successor. Hector Midolo brings extensive experience in the logistics industry. He joined the company in January 2025 as Chief Commercial Officer LATAM and Head of Global Sales for the Americas. In this role, he was responsible for commercial business development in Latin America as well as expanding global customer relationships. Midolo comments on his new role: "I am honored to take on this important responsibility for the company and the market. It is a privilege to lead the Röhlig team in Latin America." His goal is to further develop the region and connect it more closely with Röhlig's global network.
Röhlig updates Realtime platform. Röhlig Logistics has launched the next generation of Röhlig Realtime, a single digital platform to manage quotations, shipments, purchase orders, reporting, and insights in one place. The new version combines core functions with a more modern and intuitive user experience. A redesigned dashboard gives teams an instant overview of active shipments, upcoming milestones, alerts, and notifications, while live tracking and deep search make it easier to monitor cargo and find relevant information quickly. Customers can generate spot quotations for standard shipments on demand, access shipment documents centrally and move between purchase orders and their related data within one seamless workflow. Reporting and insights tools turn operational data into actionable findings as costs, transit times, transport modes, and trade lanes are visible at a glance.
Röhlig extends WeCare network. Röhlig Logistics has extended its healthcare and life science GDP WeCare programme with certification of its branches in Toronto, Sydney and Melbourne and extending its network to 13 countries. The programme has been developed in alignment with international Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines, including WHO and EU regulations. Going beyond standard GDP requirements, it enables the forwarder to proactively manage quality and compliance in an increasingly complex regulatory environment through market-specific compliance measures, enhanced training protocols, and proactive quality management. The certification focuses on key pillars of pharmaceutical logistics compliance, including temperature-controlled transport, deviation management, supplier qualification, risk assessment, and documentation standards. Global head of healthcare and life sciences, Juancarlos Cruz, said: "By implementing our own policy and programme, we ensure consistency across our global network while proactively managing risks and strengthening reliability for our healthcare customers." Röhlig plans to certify additional branches worldwide in 2026.
Röhlig realigns in Latin America. Röhlig Logistics is realigning its management structure in Latin America with Christian Busch (pictured) taking over as managing director of Röhlig Chile, succeeding Anthony Roe, who has played a key role in building and shaping the company over two decades. Christian Busch brings over 25 years of experience in the international logistics and freight forwarding industry and before joining Röhlig, he held management positions at Kühne+Nagel and DB Schenker. New leader for Röhlig in Ireland. Röhlig Logistics has appointed Alan O'Brien as managing director of Röhlig Ireland, succeeding sGarrett O'Brien (no relation). Alan O'Brien (pictured) began his career at AirOcean Ireland in December 2018 as senior business development manager and, following the acquisition of AirOcean Ireland by Röhlig Logistics in January 2025, played a key role in the growth of the business and the successful integration of the Irish site into Röhlig. In his new role, he will focus on the further development of air and sea freight exports and westbound Far East business, digital sales channels and customer service tools. Since the takeover in 2025, Garrett O'Brien has led Röhlig Ireland as managing director and will retire at the end of April 2026. Röhlig Logistics chief human resources officer, Ulrike Baum, said: "Garrett O'Brien has shaped its Irish business over decades with entrepreneurial vision, personal commitment, and great loyalty, developing it into the strength that characterises it today.
