Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
  • Industry-specific certification, including certifications such as Project Management Professional, American Engineering and Construction Project Management Association, or Design-Build Institute of America.
  • Demonstrated success in senior project management while managing a single large project or a portfolio of smaller projects.
  • Advanced understanding of core engineering disciplines, project execution, and delivery in design and construction.
  • Experience managing the design process and relationships between design and construction to ensure quality, budget-conscious, complete documents are delivered on schedule.
  • Ability to lead and manage integrated teams, including strategic partners and subcontractors.
  • Understanding of integrated project delivery, including design, procurement, commissioning and qualification, and construction processes.
  • Proficiency with typical software tools, including the Microsoft Suite, as well as safety and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies and plans to deliver projects and services effectively and efficiently.
  • Oversee a single large project or multiple projects as the principal project representative.
  • Manage client relationships and create a positive client experience that supports future work.
  • Lead the CRB team and the owner through business case alignment and chartering phases.
  • Lead project execution planning development.
  • Partner with the preconstruction group on constructability, procurement, logistics planning, scope reviews, budgeting, and costing.
  • Incorporate pertinent logistics into phasing, design, and construction plans.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules and timelines.
  • Prepare monthly financial and schedule reports for assigned projects.
  • Monitor and approve costs, provide cost-forecasting input, and authorize expenses and workflows within signing limits.
  • Develop, monitor, track, and negotiate project costs to support successful and profitable projects.
  • Ensure preconstruction work carries over seamlessly into the field.
  • Complete pre-mobilization activities, including project execution plans, building execution plans, site requirements, and permitting.
  • Lead the coordinated procurement plan for long-lead equipment, trade partners, subcontractors, and enabling work.
  • Develop an early closeout plan to support timely project completion.
  • Lead estimate development and facility reviews while controlling scope creep.
  • Spot-check quality documents, field reports, and logs for completeness and accuracy.
  • Participate in site safety walks, ensure appropriate tracking software is used, and engage client site safety representatives.
  • Develop project-specific quality management plans, monitor work sites, address quality concerns, and complete quality documentation and forms for contract compliance.
  • Participate in pull-planning sessions to create clarity and shared understanding.
  • Create and validate financial forecasts for upcoming activities and projects.
  • Protect the company's financial interests while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Develop execution strategies and establish projects for successful delivery.
  • Establish CRB culture and core values.
  • Communicate with sponsors, stakeholders, and business leaders throughout projects.
  • Provide overall leadership and direction to project teams.
  • Build healthy, high-performing teams across CRB, subconsultants, owners, and trade partners.
  • Monitor team health and intervene as needed across internal teams, external partners, and clients.
  • Manage end-to-end project delivery through chartering, safety, design, preconstruction, permitting, construction, document control, procurement, commissioning and qualification, automation, consulting, and warranty.
  • Ensure teams understand and maintain the standard of care throughout projects.
  • Ensure client and CRB policies, procedures, and applicable laws are followed.
  • Set up and ensure use of required management tools, systems, and best practices.
  • Ensure key performance indicators for safety, pre-planning, execution, customer satisfaction, quality, schedule, and profitability are met.
  • Build strategies, logistics, and sequencing, and coordinate with architecture and engineering teams on required packages.
  • Lead client contract negotiations and ensure favorable terms and payment for work performed.
  • Work with CRB legal to develop contract summaries and ensure contract compliance.
  • Approve subcontractor awards according to approved workflows.
  • Ensure use of standard contracts, purchase orders, and exhibit templates; review statements of work.
  • Lead guaranteed maximum price preparation and incorporate contract risk mitigation.
  • Negotiate shared savings and incentive payment provisions.
  • Identify project risks and formulate mitigation plans, escalating them to senior management.
  • Lead internal risk reviews and approval activities.
  • Identify potential claims and coach teams through resolution while notifying senior management of risks and exposure.
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships and manage client interactions.
  • Identify and resolve potential conflicts.
  • Conduct regular principal-level meetings focused on key performance indicators and shared success.
  • Solicit client feedback and follow through on performance improvements.
  • Negotiate and manage prime contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements.
  • Identify opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Apply market knowledge to determine business growth opportunities.
  • Participate in major pursuits and act as pursuit lead while developing strategies and action plans.
  • Lead requests for proposal responses and develop winning strategies.
  • Prepare and coach presentation teams and respond to post-presentation client requests.
  • Maintain connections with site teams and ensure planned resources are available.
  • Identify team and project inefficiencies and address them.
  • Monitor team performance, coach teams, and course-correct staffing as necessary.
  • Hold people accountable and review and issue performance improvement plans with Human Resources and senior development officers when necessary.
  • Clarify priority hiring needs based on project demands.
  • Use professional networks to identify and recruit candidates.
  • Participate in interviews and help determine candidate fit.
  • Contribute to offer formulation when serving as hiring manager.
  • Coordinate with Talent Acquisition throughout recruiting, acceptance, and onboarding.
  • Mentor, coach, and train team members.
  • Share building experience, execution approaches, and construction knowledge with project teams.
  • Maintain a supportive but accountable environment.
  • Handle employee issues effectively and pursue timely resolution.
  • Support team members in achieving development goals.
  • Support review cycles and provide constructive feedback on project staff performance.
