  • An Associate's degree in Medical Radiography is required.
  • A Massachusetts radiology license is required.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required; new hires have 30 days to provide certification, which must be from the American Heart Association.
  • Three to five years of related work experience is required.
  • A Massachusetts state license is required.
  • For ultrasound or vascular assignments, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography credentials in Obstetrics/Gynecology and Abdomen specialties and Registered Vascular Technologist credentials are required.
  • Advanced technical computer skills are required for technical support specific to the functional area and related systems.
  • The employee must communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.
  • The employee must comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families, and external customers.
  • The employee must be able to perform heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally or up to 50 pounds frequently, with extended periods of standing or moving.
Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of radiology exams and procedures in a hospital, Level I trauma, or urgent care setting based on the two assigned modalities.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic exams, including setting up equipment and positioning the patient to best demonstrate the body part under study.
  • Enter instructions into computers and monitor and evaluate images for accuracy and completeness of the order, making necessary adjustments when needed.
  • Evaluate image quality and completeness.
  • Respond to patients' physical and psychological needs and explain procedures clearly and concisely without causing unnecessary anxiety.
  • Use proper hand hygiene before and after patient contact.
  • Observe patients' conditions and report changes to the nurse or physician.
  • Edit computer entries for correctness, including descriptions, billing charges, contrast usage, and contrast reactions.
  • Maintain the daily room checklist, code cart compliance checks, and monthly inventory checks for expired products.
  • Provide patient care competently to neonatal, young adult, middle-aged, and elderly patients.
  • Work collaboratively in small teams to improve immediate work-group operations by offering ideas and identifying issues.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
