About the job

Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience as a Product Manager or Senior Product Manager in a B2B software-as-a-service environment.
  • A working command of modern product discovery and delivery practices, such as Jobs to Be Done, continuous discovery, dual-track agile, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Ability to synthesise complex customer, commercial, and technical inputs into a clear product direction.
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort working with product data, usage analytics, financial metrics, and qualitative customer evidence.
  • Comfort operating within a capacity-constrained delivery model and ability to make and openly defend trade-offs across competing demand types rather than treating capacity as elastic.
  • Ability to write with precision and speak with authority to customers, engineers, and executives.
  • Experience working in or alongside complex financial services, enterprise software, or highly regulated B2B environments.
  • Appetite for accountability and owning outcomes.
Responsibilities
  • Own the problem space for the assigned product area across receivables finance, open accounting, and asset finance.
  • Conduct continuous customer and market discovery through interviews, contextual enquiry, and data analysis to validate assumptions and surface unmet needs before committing to solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a validated opportunity backlog, distinguishing problems worth solving from those that are not.
  • Define clear, measurable outcome goals for each initiative and communicate them to the team and stakeholders.
  • Build a deep understanding of the regulatory, commercial, and operational environment in which customers operate across the UK, USA, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and other target markets.
  • Maintain a single, transparent backlog for the product area.
  • Apply evidence-based return-on-investment prioritisation to the backlog and defend why items above the line earned their place.
  • Work with the Product Operations Manager to prioritise and sequence additional high-integrity commitments.
  • Make trade-offs across demand types visible to the Product Director, Engineering Manager, and stakeholders, including the reasoning and work that will not be delivered in a given cycle.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Engineers as the core delivery partnership, operating in short, iterative delivery cycles with a bias toward learning quickly.
  • Write clear, outcome-oriented user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting context rather than feature specifications.
  • Make prioritisation decisions based on customer value, strategic fit, technical feasibility, and commercial impact.
  • Take accountability for outcomes delivered, track whether solutions are working, and iterate based on evidence.
  • Champion product quality, accessibility, performance, and reliability as non-negotiable standards.
  • Build trusted relationships with enterprise customers in banking, specialist lending, and secured finance to fuel ongoing discovery.
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Operations to ensure the roadmap is credibly communicated and commercially understood.
  • Participate in and sometimes lead customer-facing product discovery sessions, including with major banks and global finance providers.
  • Provide input into pricing, packaging, and commercial model decisions that affect how the product area generates value.
  • Contribute to the development of the company's product culture, including outcome orientation, intellectual honesty, and shared ownership of failure and success.
  • Participate in planning, roadmap, and objectives and key results processes, ensuring the product area's direction is coherent with the wider product strategy.
Desired Qualifications
  • Domain knowledge in receivables finance, including invoice discounting, invoice factoring, supply chain finance, or asset-based lending; open accounting; or asset finance, including equipment leasing, hire purchase, or conditional sale.
  • Experience working in organisations transitioning from professional services or custom delivery to a scalable product model.
  • Familiarity with platform extensibility concepts, including application programming interfaces, configurable business rules, and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience with artificial-intelligence-enabled product features or a strong curiosity about applying large language models in enterprise workflows.
  • Multi-jurisdictional experience spanning the UK and/or US financial services markets.
