Requirements
  • Seven to ten or more years of experience as a lead superintendent running ground-up projects of $80 million or more across commercial market sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction and experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience implementing and enforcing safety procedures on construction sites to ensure a secure work environment for the project team.
  • Ability to understand and solve complex challenges, present alternative solutions, and facilitate completion of subcontracted work.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Procore, P6, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and tolerate moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Ability to handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds and frequently stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear.
  • Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
Responsibilities
  • Execute and enforce safety standards, processes, and procedures; keep the project site clean and organized; and conduct weekly safety inspections and monthly safety audits.
  • Enforce quality standards, processes, and procedures and conduct quality-control audits.
  • Determine, follow, and promote construction requirements and procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in managing contractual requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain construction documents and review and coordinate shop drawings and submittals.
  • Direct, coordinate, and monitor construction-site activities to ensure specifications are met.
  • Oversee mitigation of issues and recovery of the critical path.
  • Conduct project preconstruction, strategy, and premortem meetings.
  • Determine required manpower, equipment, and materials from project start to finish while maintaining attention to budget requirements.
  • Anticipate and identify project issues and risks, communicate them proactively, present solutions, and confer with the project team to resolve them.
  • Manage and plan construction operations and schedules to meet deadlines and identify schedule-compression opportunities.
  • Maintain complete and thorough daily logs, including production and detailed work areas.
  • Maintain and control project scope and budget by communicating with the appropriate purchase orders and scope-of-work documents.
  • Identify new construction products and practices and recommend methods, materials, and layouts to reduce construction costs based on design needs and capabilities.
  • Ensure proper documentation and communication of project status.
  • Create and modify the project schedule to reflect approved scope changes and ensure adherence to key dates; create the critical path method schedule.
  • Direct and monitor compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
  • Prepare and execute project closeout, demobilize resources, and transition the completed project to the client.
  • Maintain positive client relationships to support future repeat business.
  • Travel as required when the work location varies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
