The Trade Desk operates a demand-side platform (DSP) that enables advertisers to buy digital advertising space automatically. Clients, including advertising agencies and direct advertisers, use this platform to manage and optimize their campaigns across various channels like display, social media, mobile, video, and connected TV. The platform utilizes real-time bidding (RTB), allowing advertisers to purchase ad impressions through live auctions that occur as web pages load. The Trade Desk distinguishes itself from competitors by providing advanced technology and data analytics, ensuring transparency in campaign measurement and reporting. This transparency allows clients to see how their ads perform and make informed decisions about their ad spending. The company's goal is to empower advertisers to achieve better results through optimized ad campaigns, while generating revenue through platform usage fees and additional services like consulting.
