- Identify, prevent, and resolve drug therapy problems by ensuring each medication is indicated, effective, safe, and convenient for the patient.

- Assure the appropriateness of drug therapy and compliance with hospital policies.
- Oversee the distribution of medications throughout Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
- Support implementation of processes to assure the quality of Pharmacy services.
- Train staff as assigned, including residents, interns, technicians, and new pharmacists.
- Precept student pharmacists as assigned.
- Monitor patients for response to medications.
- Identify and document sentinel or serious events, near misses, medication errors, and adverse drug reactions in the electronic reporting system.
- Promote and assure compliance with the hospital formulary and policies and procedures defined by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
- Provide care appropriate to the chronological age, developmental age, social maturity, and cultural background of the patient.
- One year of postgraduate year one pharmacy residency experience is preferred.
- Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook skills are preferred.
