About the job

Requirements
  • Growth experience at an open source company, with a product whose audience discovers it through the repository.
  • Prior ownership of a growth number and the ability to make decisions about whether channels should be improved or discontinued.
  • Ability to discuss experiments, including their results and subsequent changes.
  • Ability to run a team of channel specialists, establish cadence, and drive accountability.
  • Operational depth across multiple distribution channels, including search engine optimization and generative engine optimization, content, paid marketing, product launches, and AI-native discovery.
  • Ability to assess messaging quality across outputs without becoming a bottleneck.
  • Ability to work directly with founders, make decisions, push back, and own outcomes.
Responsibilities
  • Own weekly signup pacing and growth across core acquisition channels and be accountable for results.
  • Own growth marketing strategy and execution end to end, including deciding which channels to scale or discontinue.
  • Build a durable signup mix across search engine optimization and generative engine optimization, partnerships, brand, paid marketing, and other channels.
  • Audit the paid advertising program and its agency during the first month, then decide whether to scale, fix, or end the program.
  • Continue building the team across product marketing, search engine optimization, paid marketing, and YouTube, hiring as the team grows.
  • Run cross-channel planning, prioritization, and execution across content, product marketing, partnerships, brand, and distribution.
  • Run weekly performance reviews, diagnose misses, identify what is working, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Partner with product and engineering on activation, onboarding, and growth constraints outside marketing's direct control.

About the company

Firecrawl provides a context API for AI agents to search, crawl, scrape, and retrieve clean content from the live web and structured indexes at scale. Its platform handles crawling, rendering, parsing, and cleanup so teams don’t need to build their own extraction pipelines. The Alexandria layer unifies official data providers, custom connectors, and Firecrawl indexes with the live web, enabling agents to discover sources and pull knowledge, including paid access like Wikimedia Enterprise. The service supports scale to millions of users and funds deeper indexes, search capabilities, and knowledge-contributor payouts.

Firecrawl raises $75M to build Alexandria, a global knowledge library for AI agents

US-based AI startup Firecrawl has raised $75 million in a Series B round led by Smash Capital. The round included participation from Altos, Nexus, Y Combinator, Freestyle, and Offline Ventures. Founded in 2024 by Brazilian Nicolas Silberstein Camara alongside Caleb Peffer and Eric Ciarla, Firecrawl develops open-source solutions for data extraction and processing. The company serves over 1.5 million developers and 150,000 companies globally, including Shopify, Apple, and Canva. The funding will accelerate expansion and develop Alexandria, a platform designed to aggregate knowledge from diverse sources for AI models and agents. Alexandria will compile scientific research, code repositories, government documents, and real-time data across multiple sectors including finance, e-commerce, and employment. The platform aims to provide compatible access via API, Model Context Protocol, or command-line interface across both open and proprietary AI models. This follows an earlier $15 million Series A round.
