Legora and Laurel partner to capture the time lawyers spend in Legora as they work.

Legora and Laurel partner to capture the time lawyers spend in Legora as they work. Business Wire Published Oct 13, 2026 -Laurel will turn work done in Legora into time entries on the right matter, and the two companies will jointly develop ways to measure AI's value- SAN FRANCISCO - Legora, the agentic operating system for legal work, and Laurel, the work intelligence platform for professional services firms, today announced a partnership that brings automatic time capture to legal work done in Legora. Laurel will turn every task a lawyer completes in Legora into a time entry, with the client, the matter, and what was done, ready for the lawyer to review. Story continues below This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. Recording time is work that lawyers cannot bill for. Entries are often reconstructed from memory at the end of a day or week, and the short tasks in between are easy to miss, which over a year adds up to real revenue a firm never invoices. As more of the working day moves into AI platforms such as Legora, firm leaders also want a clearer view of how that work is changing and what return it is producing. Top Stories Interested in more newsletters? Browse here. In the first phase of the Legora - Laurel partnership, firms using both platforms will get: * Time entries written from the work itself: Each task in Legora is recorded on the right client matter with a specific narrative, such as "Analyze indemnification provisions in draft asset purchase agreement." * Less time spent on timesheets: Lawyers spend less unbillable time reconstructing what they did in Legora and submitting their time entries. * Fewer gaps in the record: Because work in Legora is logged as it happens, the short stretches that tend to slip through are captured, so less of the work lawyers actually do goes unrecorded. * One record for each matter: Entries from Legora sit alongside the time Laurel captures from email, documents, calls, and other applications, each attributed to the right lawyer and matter. The second phase of the partnership looks beyond the timesheet. Laurel and Legora will jointly develop ways to measure how Legora is used and the value that AI-powered legal work brings to law firms, with each side supplying the data needed to make the picture complete and credible. In consultation with customers, Legora and Laurel will decide which measures matter most, how to calculate them, and how these insights are surfaced on the Legora and Laurel platforms. It is meant to give firm leaders a clearer view of how their lawyers work, how much they rely on Legora, what work is done on Legora, and the value that Legora delivers. "Firms choose Legora because it changes the way their lawyers work and drives positive business outcomes, and they should be able to see that change in their numbers," said Gabriel Quek, Senior Director of Technology Partnerships at Legora. "With Laurel, time spent in Legora is recorded as lawyers work, and together we're building a credible way for firm leaders to see where Legora is making a difference." "AI work now takes up a growing share of a lawyer's day, and it has been among the hardest to capture," said Kourosh Zamani, Co-Founder and Head of Partnerships at Laurel. "With Legora, we can turn each piece of that work into a time entry on the right matter, described in terms a client will recognize, and build the record firms need to judge what their AI investment is delivering." Story continues below Firms using both platforms will receive details on availability as the rollout begins, with automated time capture from Legora to be available first. About Legora Legora is the agentic operating system for legal work, supporting lawyers in research, review, and drafting across complex matters. It is used by more than 130,000 legal professionals at more than 2,000 leading law firms and in-house legal teams across over 80 markets. About Laurel Laurel is the work intelligence platform for professional services - AI handles capture, classification, and narrative drafting, automating the administrative work draining professional time and turning every work activity into ready-to-review timesheets, real-time profitability, AI ROI, and pricing intelligence. DarrowEverett selects AI time intelligence platform, Laurel, to free up lawyers' time for client-focused work.

DarrowEverett selects AI time intelligence platform, Laurel, to free up lawyers' time for client-focused work. DarrowEverett LLP, a full-service law firm serving clients nationwide, has selected Laurel as its AI time intelligence platform and is rolling it out to every attorney and paralegal across its eight-office footprint. Laurel connects directly to the firm's practice management system, so timekeepers can review AI-drafted time entries and release them straight to billing, creating more time for high-value, client-focused work. DarrowEverett chose Laurel after a rigorous evaluation led by the firm's leadership. The goal was to equip attorneys and paralegals with a tool that eliminates administrative friction, so they can stay focused on client work. Laurel runs quietly in the background, capturing activity across the applications timekeepers already use and drafting entries that follow the firm's billing guidelines. The result is fewer corrections, cleaner invoices, and richer reporting that gives firm leadership a clearer picture of how time is being spent across the practice. Andrew Adams, Partner and Chief Administrative Officer at DarrowEverett, said: "Laurel is the latest layer of technology that allows our practice to evolve, grow, and stay competitive. Its ease of use means our team spends less time on administrative tasks and more time on work that moves our clients' interests forward efficiently. It also allows client data to stay secure. That is what smart, modern practice management looks like." Emil Dyrvig, Chief Revenue Officer at Laurel, said: "DarrowEverett's leadership made a firmwide commitment from day one, which is exactly the kind of strategic decision you see from a best-in-class C-suite. Instead of limiting Laurel to one office or practice group, the firm put it in front of every timekeeper, and that is where the value compounds: complete time data across the firm and a truer picture of how each matter performs." About DarrowEverett LLP DarrowEverett LLP is a full-service law firm providing comprehensive legal counsel to businesses and individuals across a broad spectrum of needs. The firm's core strengths span corporate law, commercial real estate, finance, complex commercial and business litigation, public housing and community development, and private client services including estate planning and family law. Laurel announces its plugin for ChatGPT Enterprise.

Laurel announces its plugin for ChatGPT Enterprise. SAN FRANCISCO, Sept 18 - Laurel today announced the Laurel plugin for ChatGPT Enterprise, to combine frontier intelligence with deep legal search and instructions for professional legal analysis and writing. Lawyers have no shortage of work or ideas for doing it better. By bringing Laurel's record of captured work together with ChatGPT model capabilities to summarize and question that record, the plugin helps lawyers see where their time went and where recorded time falls short of the work behind it. This gives lawyers more room to pursue the work they have not yet been able to do. For example, a lawyer can use the Laurel plugin within ChatGPT Enterprise to understand what they worked on for a client that week and review a summary of that activity by client, matter, or application alongside the time entries already recorded. The plugin surfaces the gaps between the two. Entering and submitting time continues in Laurel. Lawyers no longer have to log into Laurel to see their own work. Questions that used to mean clicking through reports become a question asked in plain language and answered at the moment it comes up. Those already working in ChatGPT can pull their work record into what they are doing on the platform rather than switching tools. The lawyers who want to go further can build on it. A weekly readout of where the week went, an analysis of which matters are consuming the most time, or a custom agent that reports back every Friday are all things a lawyer can assemble themselves, using their own work record as the input. "Lawyers know better than we do what questions to ask about their own work. Our job was to make the record good enough to answer them, then get out of the way. Now a lawyer can ask what happened on a matter, in the tool they already have open, and get the actual answer." - Ryan Alshak, CEO and co-founder of Laurel The plugin is available to Laurel customers through the ChatGPT plugin directory. In managed ChatGPT workspaces, an administrator enables the plugin before members can install it. Each lawyer then connects their own Laurel account so they see only the work Laurel already captured for them. Learn more about the plugin at: https://chatgpt.com/plugins. "We believe the next generation of AI for law will be built around what makes each firm distinctive - its expertise, judgment, and way of working. By building alongside Laurel, we're turning that expertise into AI lawyers can use every day, creating new ways for firms to serve their clients and shape the future of legal work." - Jason Boehmig, GM Legal Industry at OpenAI

Kinstellar selects Laurel AI in "commercial excellence" drive.

Kinstellar selects Laurel AI in "commercial excellence" drive. * August 20, 2026 Independent international law firm Kinstellar has selected AI timekeeping and work intelligence vendor Laurel AI as part of a wholesale transformation drive, Legal Technology can reveal. The firm, which has circa 400 lawyers and 15 offices across Central and Eastern Europe, Southeast Europe and Central Asia selected Laurel earlier this year and is due to begin rolling it out in the first part of Autumn. Kinstellar rolls out cloud finance system Aderant Sierra in the second part of Autumn, which is an upgrade of its existing finance system. The selection process for both began this year, delivering on a hugely ambitious timescale. Speaking to Legal IT Insider, Rob Morris, chief growth and transformation officer at Kinstellar's parent company Aapogee, who was brought in at the start of the year, said: "We looked at the incumbent time recording system in Sierra and we also looked at a bunch of the other ones and the different ways you can use Laurel is just phenomenal. We're using it primarily just to focus on the billable side of things and have an improved experience for the lawyers so they can record time differently. But we see all sorts of potential benefits in terms of how we see usage of our applications, how we drive adoption, and how we get the ROI on AI tools." Morris says that the firm's priority right now "is to drive commercial excellence, improve our time to cash cycle quite significantly, so we can do better, and improve reporting to the to clients." The hope is that Laurel will also save a huge amount of time for lawyers. Morris says: "At the moment, a lawyer's biggest pain point is how it takes a few hours a day to record my timesheet. And this will take it down to 10, 20 minutes, because it does it for them." Also leading the transformation drive at Kinstellar is digital transformation and legaltech innovation group head Ivan Rašić, who says of Laurel: "One of the leading reasons also why we selected them was the simplicity and the way they plug into the day-to-day workflow of our lawyers. They just select their toolkit, say, 'Okay, these are the five tools we predominantly use day in and day out' and then Laurel will pick up just the activity from those tools, giving you full control to evaluate what you did in the end of the day." Behind the project, Morris says there is a "whole commercial excellence programme of work around how are we going to improve billing as a result of this? How are we going to improve collections? How are we going to improve our client reporting? How do we improve pricing or legal project management to improve both the lawyer experience and also the client so that we can have price certainty." Laurel AI, which started life as Time by Ping, was founded in 2016 by Ryan Alshak and given one of its first breaks by Mishcon's legaltech incubator MDR Lab. It raised $100m in August and is focusing its attention on helping organisations to maps time to business outcomes (see article below.) Emil Dyrvig, chief revenue officer at Laurel said: "We're proud to partner with Kinstellar. At Laurel, we help firms see exactly where time goes and what their technology investments return. Kinstellar is doing that across every office at once rather than one market at a time. Together, we're giving fee earners their time back and their leadership one clear picture of how the firm works." For its interview with Morris and Rašić about the wider transformation programme see HERE.

Laurel and Dayshape partner to help professional services firms tackle hidden revenue leakage and operational blind spots.

Laurel and Dayshape partner to help professional services firms tackle hidden revenue leakage and operational blind spots. Jun 2, 2026 New partnership connects AI-powered resource planning with automated time capture as firms struggle with visibility into capacity, profitability and delivery risk Laurel, the work intelligence platform for professional services, and Dayshape, the AI-powered resource management platform trusted by Big Four and top-tier professional services firms globally, have announced a partnership to help firms identify and eliminate revenue leakage. The partnership brings together Dayshape's AI-powered resource planning platform with Laurel's automated work intelligence technology, giving businesses a clearer view of how work is planned, delivered and billed across the organization. Laurel automatically captures work activity across meetings, emails, documents and digital workflows, reducing reliance on manual time entry and improving the accuracy of operational and financial data. That data feeds directly into Dayshape's real-time resource planning and project financial features, enabling firms to make smarter decisions around staffing, profitability, pricing and delivery risk - before issues impact the bottom line. Dayshape customers typically see a 5% increase in utilization, while Laurel users capture an average of 28 additional minutes per day. Both report profit increases 11% - together, the potential is even greater. Where most scheduling tools assign the best available person to each role one at a time, Dayshape's AI evaluates the entire organization simultaneously, identifying the optimal allocation across all engagements. Laurel captures what actually happens - automatically recording professional time and generating accurate work intelligence that firms can use to bill precisely and manage engagements more profitably. Together, the platforms deliver an end-to-end view of resourcing economics, helping firms identify margin leakage earlier, improve forecasting accuracy and maximize billable utilization across teams. By connecting how work is planned with how it is actually performed, firms can make decisions based on real project performance - not incomplete timesheet data. The partnership comes at a critical time for the industry. Professional services firms are under increasing pressure to improve productivity and profitability. Dayshape's research* shows 42% of firms missed revenue targets last year, while only 25% of leaders say they feel confident in their organisation's ability to plan long term. Two thirds (38% of firms lack clear visibility into team capacity and availability and a similar number (37%) lack real-time profitability insight by team or project. Through this partnership Dayshape and Laurel will address visibility and time keeping friction points, reducing potential impact on the bottom line. The partnership also strengthens the capabilities of each platform. Dayshape's scheduling data gives Laurel richer context for matching captured time to the right matters and engagements. Laurel's verified time actuals make Dayshape's plan-versus-actual reporting more accurate, improving every utilization report and engagement financial the platform surfaces. Both companies serve the world's leading professional services firms and are part of the Microsoft and Workday partner networks, simplifying joint deployment for customers. Matt Cockett, CEO of Dayshape says: "What Dayshape does so well is provide a forward-looking view of a business enabling companies to plan optimally and course correct as they go. Laurel ensures every minute of work is captured accurately, without adding any extra effort for teams. We know that time data in professional services has historically been difficult to manage. Laurel's technology means that it doesn't need to be - which is exactly why this partnership makes sense." Ryan Alshak, CEO and Co-Founder of Laurel, says: "Most firms know they have a data problem. They just don't know how bad it is until they fix it. Laurel gives firms an accurate picture of how time is actually being spent and what it's producing. Connecting it with Dayshape's scheduling and revenue engine means customers finally have the planning layer and the execution layer talking to each other." Together, the platforms attack margin from both directions. Dayshape prevents leakage at the point of resourcing decisions. Laurel recovers it at the execution layer. Firms running both gain control over the full margin picture. *https://dayshape.com/guides/inside-the-leadership-growth-agenda
