- Has expertise supporting, monitoring, and operating critical production software systems, and leading resolution and post-mortem analysis of complex technical issues.
- Can execute within Agile frameworks, drive continuous process improvement across teams, and communicate technical concepts in English to executive leadership and partners.
- Has at least 7 years of experience with Azure and cloud infrastructure, including networking, WAF, and CDN.
- Has at least 7 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, plus hands-on experience with AKS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Has at least 10 years of Python development experience and expertise organizing projects and building web services with FastAPI.
- Has experience building AI-enabled applications, particularly recommendation or conversational systems, and evaluation frameworks for LLM or AI systems.
- Understands how AI systems differ from traditional deterministic systems.
Responsibilities
- Build software services and APIs using Python frameworks, ideally FastAPI, to create reliable data-processing and deployment experiences.
- Design and maintain secure cloud infrastructure from a software engineering perspective, including core networking components such as WAF and CDN.
- Use Terraform to manage infrastructure as code and deploy scalable services using AKS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Implement end-to-end data solutions across real-time Kafka or Kinesis and batch architectures.
- Set technical direction and align core system designs with organizational strategic goals.
- Promote Python engineering practices and adoption of languages and technologies across multiple teams.
- Define and drive testing and quality-assurance practices across engineering and data teams.
- Guide teams on security, performance, resource efficiency, and operational observability.
- Collaborate on CI/CD workflows, DevOps capabilities, and automated deployment pipelines; drive operational best practices and continuous infrastructure improvements.
- Support, monitor, and operate critical production systems; lead resolution and post-mortem analysis of complex technical issues.
- Drive continuous process improvement across teams and communicate technical concepts to executive leadership and key partners.
