About the Company

Coastal Villages Region Fund

Nonprofit linking Alaska fisheries and local development

Coastal Villages Region Fund is a nonprofit supporting economic development in communities on the coast of western Alaska. It owns and operates a Bering Sea fishing fleet that harvests, processes, and sells pollock, cod, and crab in global seafood markets. Income from these fisheries funds local employment, education programs, infrastructure, and resident services, with further investment in vessels and fishing quota sustaining the model. Residents govern the organization through its board, and eligibility for its community programs is tied to living in a member village. Founded in 1998, the organization is headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska.
