  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Three years of prior experience in a maintenance position are required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Technical skills are recommended.
Responsibilities
  • Thoroughly clean the entire building according to the cleaning schedule.
  • Control inventory and order and stock cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Set up and break down rooms for program purposes as needed.
  • Clean and maintain outside grounds and windows.
  • Perform touch-up painting as needed.
  • Move donations in a timely manner through contact with the Adult Rehabilitation Center representative.
  • Prepare air-conditioning and heating thermostats for winter and summer.
  • Break down and dispose of boxes and other garbage daily while keeping the dumpster locked.
  • Turn out all lights except office lights and secure the building each day before leaving.
  • Unload food items and other donations.
  • Assist the caseworker with the weekly food pickup at the food bank.
  • Move and lift furnishings, equipment, and food items.
  • Run errands and pick up donations.
  • Salt and remove snow from sidewalks, entrances, dumpster areas, buses, vans, and parking areas after the contractor has finished, including snowfall outside the normal work schedule.
  • Develop a preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Consult with the direct supervisor and Corps Officer regarding building maintenance problems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of vehicles.
  • Perform heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning, plumbing, and electrical work as permitted by applicable codes.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for quotes and approved work.
  • Coordinate all inspections related to physical buildings.
  • Perform Christmas-related food and toy pickups and deliveries as needed.
  • Transport kettle workers as needed during the Christmas season.
  • Set up the Christmas Castle.
  • Clean the Christmas Castle daily.
  • Assist staff and volunteers with lifting and moving items as needed.
