- At least 1 year of applicable experience is required.
- An Associate Degree is required.
- Registered Nurse qualification is required.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or the Red Cross is required.
- Use the nursing process and remain accountable for its application.
- Perform patient care, delegate patient care tasks, and supervise other patient care staff.
- Coordinate the plan of care for assigned patients and consult with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate clinical nurse proficiency and follow applicable policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures.
- Initiate and maintain intravenous infusions, including heparin, furosemide, diltiazem, amiodarone, and patient-controlled analgesia or CADD pumps.
- Participate in shared governance and quality improvement initiatives.
