TikTok launches AI shopping tools and ad network across 400,000 apps

TikTok has launched new AI-powered shopping tools and expanded its advertising network to nearly 400,000 third-party apps worldwide. The company announced updates to its search and creative automation features, alongside plans to enhance GMV Max, an automated ad product designed for TikTok Shop sellers. The TikTok Ad Network allows advertisers to extend their campaigns beyond the platform itself. This builds on the company's 2019 launch of an audience network for third-party app advertising. Recent analysis indicates that US consumer spending through TikTok Shop has exceeded that of Target, highlighting the platform's growing e-commerce presence. The developments come as TikTok continues to expand its commercial capabilities and advertising infrastructure.

TikTok launches AI shopping assistant and one-click checkout to capture more sales

TikTok has launched an AI shopping assistant and one-click checkout feature, allowing users to purchase products directly from brands within the app. The conversational AI assistant provides product details, shipping information, sizing and availability whilst remembering user preferences throughout the conversation. The new checkout feature enables purchases directly from the For You feed with a single click. These tools are being built in partnership with Salesforce, Shopify, Shoplazza and Stripe, among others. The expansion follows TikTok's Economic Impact Report, which found platform activity generated $81 billion in GDP for US businesses. Some 54 million Americans reported purchasing products after watching TikTok videos. TikTok Shop generated approximately $15.8 billion in US sales in 2025, representing roughly 18% of all US social commerce, according to eMarketer.

TikTok One Pay: creators paid in 30 days, zero commission.

TikTok One Pay: creators paid in 30 days, zero commission. TikTok One Pay pays creators for marketplace brand deals within 30 days with zero commission, announced at the LA Creators Summit, per Tubefilter and Mashable. Oct 03, 2026 - 09:21 Updated: 3 hours ago TikTok introduced One Pay at its Los Angeles Creators Summit, a TikTok One marketplace feature that pays creators for brand deals within 30 days of a sponsored video posting and takes zero commission, Tubefilter and Mashable reported after the Sept. 24-25 event. One Pay routes brand-deal payments through TikTok One rather than leaving creators to chase invoices on traditional net-60 or net-90 terms. TikTok said payment lands in under 30 days after a video posts, and Mashable says TikTok collects no fees or commissions. TikTok One is the platform's brand-marketplace layer, open to creators with at least 10,000 followers. One lets creators produce ads for brands and monetize eligible organic posts when brands license them as ads. Direct brand deals outside TikTok One are not automatically covered. The summit also unveiled TikTok OnePlus, an invite-only tier for high-quality adult creators in the U.S. and Mexico with at least 100,000 followers who gain exclusive brand opportunities, Mashable reports. Tubefilter compares it to YouTube Select. Coverage places One Pay alongside TikTok's broader fintech push, including prior testing of peer-to-peer payments and applications for financial licenses, without claiming those licenses are approved for One Pay. The practical pitch is platform-enforced payment when brands book through One. For readers following creator monetization on Influencers: One Pay promises sub-30-day payouts and zero TikTok commission on One marketplace deals; OnePlus is invite-only; Tubefilter and Mashable support the product claims.

Chinese retailers grab 6.4M sq ft of UK warehouse space in Amazon battle

Chinese e-commerce companies have leased 21 warehouses in the UK over the past 18 months, totalling 6.4 million square feet, according to Knight Frank. Another seven facilities were built by investors on their behalf. This represents approximately 11% of total large warehouse take-up in Britain, up from 4% in the previous 18 months. Companies like Shein and JD.com are now the biggest foreign occupiers of UK warehouse space, surpassing US businesses. The expansion follows upcoming 2028 changes to customs duty rules that will make it more expensive to ship low-value goods directly from China. Chinese retailers are developing Amazon-style distribution hubs to build UK warehouse capacity before the changes take effect. Most deals involve space in the Midlands "golden triangle" near major motorway routes. Knight Frank said the activity reflects Chinese e-commerce companies' willingness to challenge Amazon's market dominance.

IMDA partners TikTok to develop local microdrama expertise and fuel a new pipeline of original IP.

IMDA partners TikTok to develop local microdrama expertise and fuel a new pipeline of original IP. Singapore's media professionals will be given support to develop microdrama expertise across live-action and artificial intelligence (AI)-animated formats, under a new IMDA-TikTok Microdrama Program jointly launched by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and TikTok Singapore. The program brings together IMDA's commitment to strengthening local media talent with TikTok's deep audience and market insights - helping media professionals build new production capabilities, create original intellectual property (IP), and develop strategies to commercialize their stories, IMDA said in a statement on Thursday. As part of IMDA's Digital Content and Capability Development (DCCD) program launched earlier this year, this new initiative will equip media professionals with the skills and tools to develop and produce 50 to 100 episodes, each one to three minutes long, taking their creative ideas from concept to market. The first run will benefit media professionals from 20 accredited companies, with the potential to scale to a wider pool in future editions. Microdramas and other short-form vertical video content are a fast-growing format, with the global market projected to generate $150 billion in revenue this year. Today, 87 percent of people in Singapore aged 15 and above access top social media video sites such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook on a weekly basis, with an increasing share of that time spent watching and engaging with short-form content. As audience behaviors continue to evolve, strong characters, compelling storytelling and emotional resonance remain at the heart of commercially successful stories. Against this backdrop, the program gives participants hands-on experience in developing and producing microdramas rooted in Singapore's culture and perspectives, through mentorships, workshops and masterclasses. Over a span of six to nine months, participants will learn microdrama storytelling techniques from TikTok and their partners, such as vertical content production, shot design and composition, storytelling cliffhanger design and responsible use of technology, including AI. Meanwhile, two training tracks will be available for their choosing. Firstly, live-action track focuses on content filmed with live actors, locations and sets, designed for mobile viewing and with the option to supplement content using Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) or AI-assistance. Secondly, AI-enabled animation track focuses on animated content such as anime or comic-style animation using AI tools. Training here will extend to prompt engineering, character consistency planning, visual effects (VFX) quality review, and the use of Seedance 2.5 - an advanced AI video generation platform by TikTok's parent company ByteDance. Capability development remains central to the IMDA-TikTok Microdrama Program, said the statement. The program is designed to strengthen participants' existing storytelling abilities while introducing new commercial and platform-specific capabilities, including prompt engineering, paywall strategies, and audience monetization, drawing on TikTok's market insights and expertise. Beyond the final output, participants will be onboarded onto TikTok's wider content ecosystem, gaining access to the full content journey - from delivery and distribution to audience engagement - alongside bespoke consultancy to help their Made-with-Singapore stories reach global markets. "IMDA is excited to partner with TikTok to equip our media professionals with the skills to create compelling Singapore-made microdrama for global audiences, "With TikTok's reach and insights, our talent and companies are well-placed to seize new opportunities on a global platform, harnessing new tech tools with the same care and craft they bring to any creative work. This partnership is an important step towards building a vibrant, globally competitive media sector," said Yvonne Tang, Assistant Chief Executive at IMDA's Media Industry Group. Candera Chan, Public Policy Lead for Singapore and ASEAN, said TikTok is proud to partner with IMDA to grow Singapore's microdrama ecosystem and equip our local media industry with the capabilities to capture new opportunities in this fast-growing format. "By combining Singapore's creative talent with TikTok's global reach and expertise in short-form storytelling, we can help made-in-Singapore content reach audiences around the world. We look forward to deepening our partnership with IMDA and the industry to build a vibrant and globally connected creative ecosystem," she added. Ultimately, the IMDA-TikTok Microdrama Program combines IMDA's commitment to building the capabilities of Singapore's media ecosystem with TikTok's influence as a global launchpad for media and entertainment talent. This will help create opportunities for Singapore's media professionals to better connect with audiences across formats, both locally and internationally, said the statement.
