About the job

Requirements
  • Experience building rigid-body dynamics simulators, finite element analysis or computational fluid dynamics solvers, or other physics or engineering modeling tools for internal use or as external products.
  • Experience writing trade-study and optimization tools to study design spaces for complex system analysis.
  • Broad understanding across multiple technical domains and how they interact, including the implications of trade-offs, with deep technical expertise in one or two areas.
  • Evidence of strong first-principles thinking and creating substantial improvements beyond conventional approaches.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and embrace extreme ownership.
  • Ability to prioritize impact by identifying bottlenecks and solving the most important problems.
  • Hands-on building experience with detailed knowledge of the work and willingness to execute rather than manage or organize others’ work.
  • Alignment with the mission and desire to build a future of abundance.
Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering development to expand and refine capabilities within the automated design engine product.
  • Build and maintain software tools across multiple disciplines.
  • Develop modeling, simulation, performance modeling, and optimization capabilities for automated engineering design.
  • Contribute to producing end design deliverables for large-scale capital projects such as utility-scale power and data centers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building and/or shipping internal tools or products with artificial intelligence coding agents.

About the company

Unlimited Technologies provides an AI-native platform for project engineering that targets deep tech startups. It automates front-end engineering tasks to speed up the transition from research and development to scalable infrastructure, helping startups move from bench experiments to production more quickly and cost-effectively. The platform likely combines automation tools and services on a subscription model to streamline engineering workflows and scale projects rapidly. Unlike generic engineering tools, it focuses on the needs of deep tech startups that require fast iteration and deployment of engineering projects. The goal is to shorten R&D cycles and enable faster, cheaper scaling of engineering efforts.

What believers are saying

  • August 2026 site claims work with leading companies across mining, energy, and data centers.
  • The company says its platform cuts project costs by over 50% on early projects.
  • AI infrastructure spending in 2026 rewards tools that accelerate power and datacenter buildouts.

What critics are saying

  • $12M seed from December 2025 finances little against capital-heavy construction execution.
  • Big incumbents like Vantage and Crusoe already control large infrastructure budgets and relationships.
  • A failed first project in 2026 kills trust, blocking future permits, customers, and hiring.

What makes Unlimited unique

  • Vertically integrates AI design and construction, unlike pure-software engineering startups.
  • Targets power, data centers, mining, and advanced manufacturing projects with one platform.
  • Claims hundreds of thousands of design configurations, compressing pre-construction from months to days.

Unlimited Industries raises $12M to slash infrastructure costs and timelines with AI

Unlimited Industries, a California-based AI construction company, has raised $12 million in seed funding co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and CIV. The company uses AI to automate engineering design for large-scale infrastructure projects, reducing pre-construction time from months to days whilst cutting costs significantly. Founded by Alex Modon, Tara Viswanathan and Jordan Stern, Unlimited operates as an AI-native construction firm that both designs and builds. Its proprietary platform generates and evaluates hundreds of thousands of design configurations simultaneously, optimising for cost, safety and performance. On recent projects, the company reduced pre-construction engineering from six months to weeks and cut projected capital costs by over 50%. The startup is initially focusing on power infrastructure for data centres, critical minerals and advanced manufacturing projects across the United States.
