Owners hire the group through general contracting, construction management and design-build arrangements, with teams involved from early cost planning and design coordination through project completion. The company was founded in 1928 and is headquartered in Great Falls, Montana.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Stock awards supplement pay: Sletten requires no employee contribution to its retirement ownership plan.
  • Training has financial backing: Sletten funds outside education and certifications alongside a company-wide in-house program.
  • Welding inspectors get extended sick leave: Sletten's Great Falls posting also lists long-term disability coverage.

What critics are saying

  • Great Falls welding inspectors need credentials: Sletten requires American Welding Society certification and three years' fabrication experience.
  • Remote work still involves travel: Sletten's solar project manager is exempt and requires periodic project-site visits.
  • Site access limits flexibility: Boise project engineers must reach all construction-site areas across wide-ranging climates and environments.

What makes Sletten Companies unique

  • Ownership stays with employees: Sletten is entirely employee-owned through its employee stock ownership plan.
  • Design expertise sits inside Sletten: its preconstruction team includes architects, engineers and estimators.
  • Sletten measures sites digitally: its in-house virtual construction team uses three-dimensional scanning and drone photography.
